We noticed something in your tax return that could have caused it to be rejected. We are doing an extra review to assess the reason it was flagged, resolve it for you, or identify what you need to do to ensure everything is accurate and your return is accepted.
What does it mean when my return is pending?
Pending means that we have your tax return but it has not yet been filed and accepted. While we are doing this extra review, your return will show as pending.
You should receive an email from us within 48 hours confirming that your return has been filed, or with instructions for any additional steps that need to be taken.
What is the issue with my return?
Everyone’s tax scenario is unique and so every tax return is unique. Sometimes there are issues with forms availability and sometimes numbers don’t exactly add up. When this happens a tax return may be “Pending” while an extra review is conducted to ensure 100% accuracy.
How long will the review take?
We will send you an email within 48 hours with confirmation that your return has been filed, or instructions for any additional steps that need to be taken to ensure an accurate return is accepted, and you receive every dollar you deserve.
Will this delay me getting my refund?
The IRS directly deposits refunds on average within 21 days of tax returns being filed. We are working hard to ensure that your return is ready to be accepted. We will email you within 48 hours to confirm filing, or with instructions for any additional steps that need to be taken.

For some reason we're ALL having this same issue. My Federal and State taxes were filed on January 25th. BOTH still have a status of PENDING...although my Federal taxes were accepted and I have already received my refund. There is an issue with State County Tax amounts (which I believe they have fixed), however those of us who have filed still get the PENDING status and cannot fix our state returns. IT'S A HUGE MESS!!!
This is nothing time will not resolve. If you are using the online program then clear your cookies and check again. You may need to switch to a different browser. If you are still getting a pending status then try again tomorrow.
If you are using the downloaded program make sure the program is up to date, close the program, make sure your OS is up to date then open the program again and check the status.
Your advice is useless. Everything you keep stating and restating does not and HAS NOT helped.

I’m still on pending and it’s been over a weeek anyone else???? What do I do!!!
Did yours change yet? I'm also dealing with the same thing.
There could be a couple or reasons why you might be experiencing a delay;
1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. The return has been placed on hold to give you an opportunity to cancel it if it doesn't belong to you. This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.
2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit.
Note: Both instances may be applicable. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.
I am still “pending” status, nothing changes as 5 days over from the day of submitted Feb 7, 2024.
Has someone same situation?, what can I do or any action to resolve?

I’m in the same boat I filed seven days ago and I know they started accepting taxes I believe three days ago, but they both still say pending. I guess I’ll give it a few more days and see what happens. I’ve never had this happen before they’ve always been accepted right away. Kind of getting a little nervous.
