On May 28th it was reported by NBC that we would be able to amend taxes and fill out 1040X form via efile this summer. Is this true?

I accidentally checked off that I can claimed as a dependent on my 2019 taxes which made me ineligible for stimulus check. I need to amend my tax return to correct error. Can this be done via online? As IRS is not accepting paper forms due to COVID.

The IRS is not yet offering the e-filing of a federal amended tax return, Form 1040X. They have not given a date when this will become available.
