We filed ours Feb. 23, 2021. Ours still says the same as yours. Today we received an email that turbo tax will deduct the amt. for processing of $74 dollars from our checking if we haven't received our taxes. If this happens, then when we DO get our taxes, they wont try to remove that amount again will they?
When you choose to pay your TurboTax fees from your Federal refund & there is a delay in the processing of your return/refund, then per the Refund Processing Agreement, TurboTax can deduct the fees from your bank account.
Why was my bank account auto-debited for TurboTax fees?

According to this IRS update as of April 16th:
The IRS is now opening mail within normal timeframes. The IRS has also made significant progress in processing prior year returns. As of April 9, 2021, we had 1.5 million individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of April 9, 2021, we had 16.2 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Advance Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We are processing returns received over the summer and fall in 2020 due to the extended July 15, 2020 tax filing due date. While the majority of 2019 refund returns have been processed, in some cases, we are processing tax returns that were mailed with a payment even though payment associated with these returns have been processed by the IRS. However, we are rerouting tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened in the order received. As the return is processed, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues depends on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.
What you should do: If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
E-filing your 2020 tax return: To e-file you will need to enter your AGI from your tax year 2019 tax return. If your 2019 return has not yet been processed, you may enter $ 0 (zero) as your prior year Adjusted Gross Income. If you used the Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here tool last year to register for an Economic Impact Payment, enter “$1” as your prior year AGI. See Claiming the Recovery Rebate Credit if you aren’t required to file a tax return.
I am in the same situation - efiled, accepted and no refund after 8 weeks. Set up an IRS account today and was able to produce a transcript of my account. Although there was some info related to my profile, there was a line on the transcript that stated "RETURN NOT PRESENT FOR THIS ACCOUNT". Now I am trying to figure out if this is the problem and what is the remedy. I cannot re efile using Turbotax.
@JALNJ If it was accepted, they have it... only now, the reason it says "NO RETURN PRESENT FOR THIS ACCOUNT" is probably because it was sent to the errors and corrections department. Once it is sent to E&C it is literally and figuratively out of the hands of processing. The only way you'll be able to get any information about it is to contact the IRS (after 2 more weeks, you must wait 10 weeks total) speak with a representative, ask they submit a request for review to errors and corrections. That, in itself, is another process that could take another 10 weeks or more. Once they received the requested review, there's a very likely possibility that it will not provide you with any other details other than what you already know.
Same thing happened to me and a week or so later it finally got updated, then refund. They disperse on Wednesdays.
Mine said the same thing when I created an acct. It also said that I was filing single, which I am not. I think they just put generic information. It is getting ridiculous.
What is turbotax's position in this? Should I re-efile and if so they should provide an option to refile - the system does not allow? Should I send in a mail return? Should I submit an amended return with some minimal change? You cannot reach an IRS agent to assist you - you are constrained within their limited voice program. My tax return is not complicated and this is the first time I attempted to efile which appears to be a big mistake!
I was told by a tax advisor on FB that if you do that, it will cause a lot of flags in regards to fraud! So don’t do it and try to be patient and wait. It took about 10 weeks for mine to finally process and deposit. But it’s not turbo tax, it’s the IRS’ system and new tax laws getting updated.
I talked to the irs today, i waited for so so so long on hold. i got someone that knew what they were doing and talking about. He said that my return was in the error dept and was fixed a day or two ago. That it will be 21 days from april 20th. i was jumping for joy then i got sad. He said there are programs let me get you over to someone that can help! i said okay thank you so so much. i waited for a min or two and realized the line was silent a little to long. i looked at my phone it was black. IT FREAKIN DIED YALL!!! UGH!!!!!!! ALL THOSE HOURS WAITING UGHHHH!! I called back but they closed before i got someone. :<
I filed and return was accepted 02/18/2021. I do not itemize so return was rather simple. I still have no refund and phone message just says processing. Unfortunately I have not found a phone # to talk to a live human. Very frustrating.
I filed on February 24th & I check the IRS2Go almost everyday & like many I’ve gotten my latest stimulus checks the week they started issuing, however I still have yet to get my income tax refund. I received emails from TurboTax saying they’re sorry for the hold ups but we’ll be issued our refunds soon. My cousin filled early February way before the IRS were even accepting or processing the returns which they started on Accepting on February 12th but not processing until the next business day & he got a date off when you expect his deposit. I know several people who’ve gotten their returns via z TurboTax but most don’t have any dependents or if they do they only have one. & another person I know who’s refund was processed they got a date but their refund was offset/taken. So I have no issues Thank God but why haven’t we recorded our refunds especially with the tax deadline being May 17th. I have to do an amended return but I can’t do it until I receive my refund. Like wth is going on, we’re struggling out here my God. We need help. They’re fast to offset your taxes if you owe for it to Be offset but this is just ridiculously sad. I can’t even pay what I owe on my sons college tuition & he can’t get his roster or room for next semester until I pay the remaining balance & I’d be able to do It if our refund was deposited. PLEASE WE NEED HELP, WE’RE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF OUR MONEY.
In TT, under File, Electronic Filling, Show efile history it show the efile processing of the return. In my case the resulting tracking appears to have a problem. Here is the tracking results:
Return received by Intuit Electronic Filing Center.....
Return forwarded to government IRS......
Return accepted by IRS......
At this point, the last message "Return accepted by IRS" is repeated at least 55 times in the history and all contain the same time stamp of February 25 2021 7:53 AM PST.
Has anyone else checked the efile history to see if they have incurred the same?
@JALNJ Yes, some people are seeing a few entries, yours is the highest number but irrelevant as long as the IRS has accepted your return and is processing it.
@MookMook75 Congress made a lot of changes. The IRS is having a hard time this year. Each return must be cross checked for the normal and now with the new laws:
The IRS is also processing returns mailed in last year and handling the current stimulus. They have scheduled this summer to adjust unemployment on returns.
The more items on your return, the more complicated the processing. Some people are getting their refund in two parts.
My tax's where accepted 3/10/2021 and I have to pay but no information on my account yet to make payment. No stimulus check because of the trouble filing the returns so they don't have my adjusted gross income.
