Hello I am checking to see if my forms has been received
The online link is your best option to track your refund. I have attached a link with more answers from the IRS as to why your refund may be taking longer to process.
If you mailed in after March 30- it will be stored until they are up and working- best bet is to contact your local Taxpayer Advocate leave a message file form 911 fax to the local fax to the local TPA office wait 3-5 days they should reach out to you
Just did! Get a hold of your local Taxpayer advocate office leave a message in 3 to 5 days they will return the call go to IRS website fill out form 911 fax it to the local Taxpayer advocate office they will get it moving it took me about 3 1/2 weeks from start to finish to finally get my refund released
I have filed injured spouse 3-4 times now & always got my return a few months later roughly (6) but I always mailed the form in after we filed. This time we sent the form in electronically with our tax return and haven’t received a dime yet. I have had to contact a tax payer advocate once before and got it resolved & it looks like I may have to again bc it’s been 16 weeks since we filed. weve gotten our state return (late) & it even had an offset but still no federal. We filed right after COVID19 happened so assumed that was the holdup but now places are opening back up, there’s no stimulus money being put ahead of everything else so there isn’t a good reason for such a long wait.
I've been waiting since Feb for mine. Taxpayer advocate said due to all the closures there is nothing thatathat canbe done but wait as the dept who handles injured spouse was closed. Tax advocate said they are hoping in July will be back on track.
Been waiting since Feb 15th for mine. IRS and my tax advocate have no clue when the IRS will feel like resuming to work on them. Like I said before, probably be another year. The IRS has the technology of 1795 so they supposedly can't work on these IS forms anywhere else besides the physical office...and who knows when they will ever return to their offices.
It depends.
Typically, the injured spouse form can take up to 14 weeks to process.
Injured spouse processing time
However, with Covid-19 and the closures, the IRS has been taking even longer to process returns. You may just have to wait a bit longer.
Please see the attached link for more information on the IRS operations at this point in time.
Hi my name is Linda Ross and I sent an injured spouse form into the IRS and they never got back to me I know the Covid 19 was going on but been trying to call and see how I can get my refund it was offset for my husband and I did fill out a form please help me if you can to get my refund thanks
@Jaylynn21 If you mailed the injured spouse form you are going to have a long wait--sorry. Mailed returns, etc. have been piling up in trailers for several months. The IRS is just beginning to open the backlogged mail.
It could be a year or more before the IRS feels like reviewing their backlog mountain. But, seriously, why should they rush in paying us our refunds. It's not like they are incentivized to process them fast or get the people their rightfully owed money. So, as usual, they will take their time and hit you with so many excuses that it will make your head spin. Welcome to the wonderful IRS.
