Like others....my refund is less by almost $300. I don't ever get a lot back, so seeing that my refund was shorted, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, concerns me greatly. How do I get this back? Who authorized this? I've been a life long user of TurboTax and I've suggested to others to use it as well. Now I'm not so sure. Help.

Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
Yes. The IRS website states the amount of the refund I was expecting. It is $266 short.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

when I contacted turbo tax the only answer they would give me is call the irs, call the irs, call the irs. Even after I said I paid for turbo max protection- they said call the irs. Turbo tax has been UNWILLING to help me or it seems anyone else about this matter. Absolutely ridiculous and frutstrating

The Max benefits are only if your tax return is being Audited by the IRS and that would be handled by a third party, TaxAudit.com. It does not mean that TurboTax can contact the IRS on your behalf to inquire about a tax refund.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.

Monique,
I'm still in need of a resolution to the shortage on my federal taxes. I checked the IRS website and the amount that I was expecting was what was disbursed. However, when it was direct deposited into my checking account, it was $266 short. Help.
