See this TurboTax support FAQ on amending a tax return originally completed and filed using the 2021 TurboTax online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amending/help/how-to-amend-change-or-correct-a-return-you-already-...
Since you have already filed your tax return, the only option to make any corrections would be to amend your return. For more information, please see the below TurboTax help articles.

Hello! -
Thank you for this comment, it is very helpful.
What should I expect in the instance that I received my full original 2021 return, and then receive a W-2 from an employer whilst still being in the same tax bracket? I should receive an additional refund if I amend the 2021 return, is that correct?
@ChikNOodle Wait until your original return has been fully processed and then amend using a Form 1040X to add that other W-2. Do not assume you will get another refund until you have completed the amended tax form. More income = more tax, so it is possible that by adding income you may owe, depending on how much tax was withheld by the employer.
You will have to file an amendment to include the W2 you received after you filed the tax return.
But wait till the original tax return is processed by IRS before filing the amended tax return.
You may receive an additional refund depending on the income and tax withheld in the W2 received now.

I have an interesting situation. I did not get a W2 from my old company for some qualified ESPP I sold last year. When I filed my taxes, I calculated the ordinary income portion, as usual, and answered that the income was not reported on a W2.
Well, the company decided to generate a W2 that I received last week. The box 1 amount is the identical amount that was calculated on the original return. So while I *could* file an amended return, nothing will change materially, since the income is already accounted for. Do I actually have to add the W2 and file an amended return, or can I just leave things as they are? (Calling the IRS leads to a hang up.)
I have another W2 form that was issued from my Cashapp for Bitcoin but I'm not sure what to do am I able to still file this last W2 form right now or will I have to wait next year when I'm filing my taxes again
@Chan221981 You cannot enter 2021 income on a 2022 tax return next year. If you left out income you received in 2021 when you prepared your 2021 tax return you have to wait until your 2021 return has been fully processed and then file an amended 2021 return. You do not have a W-2 for bitcoin. W-2's come from employers. Be careful about the kind of document you are entering so that you enter it correctly.

Okay so I filed my taxes on turbo tax then I received my tax return in my bank account and then a couple days later I got two more w2’s in the mail should hold on to my tax return in my bank or can I go ahead and pay my bills and continue with filing for an amended ones
@Dani_jdm We cannot see your tax return. We do not know how much income you will add when you add those W-2's, nor do we know what they will do to your tax liability. If they are for small amounts, they might not have a huge effect. or.....if they are for large amounts they might cause you to owe tax due. Be careful about spending all of the refund you already received until you see what happens when you amend.
Yes, you can spend your money, however you may want to check your amendment just to be sure you do not owe any money back of if you will get an additional refund.
It doesn't take a lot of time to check it out and then you will have a good idea about where you stand. There's no rush to send it in, but if you do owe you will want to pay it no later than April 18th for this year, to avoid any interest and/or late payment penalties.
The amended return Form 1040-X is available now ahead of schedule. The IRS will take a little longer to process amendments. Read all instructions before you begin to amend your return.
I'm just now receiving another W2 what should I do
Did you click that big orange button that said “Transmit my return now?” If you did that, you cannot do anything to fix it yet. You have to wait for the email that tells you if your return was accepted or rejected.
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you might need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.
I apply on 3/13/2024 n I haven’t gotten it i did get my other tax money but I added my new one n I haven’t gotten it yet n I been waiting
