Are you all saying "it's not fixed" because you think the calculations are wrong or because the IRS won't accept your return? I don't know if the calculations are correct, but I know my return was accepted after the 4/28 update and there were no further TT updates after that. I'm assuming Intuit thinks their job is done as far as this problem is concerned.
@RandomUserName4 - I did not submit it following the 4/28 update, following the comments here. Happy to try though. No harm in trying again, I suppose.
I selected the "Personal" tab and clicked on "Smart Check".
There was an error on Fed return regarding the DATE I wanted the money to be debited from account for taxes owed. So I updated the DATE to 05/03/2021.
I then selected the "Review" tab and after analyzing the return came back with the familiar message about the American Rescue Plan and Turbotax working on the changes for self-employed and APTC.
So, "I'll wait to file".
be nice if they documented the changes made for customer review.
It is still extremely disappointing that Turbo Tax is not giving any direction at all. I thought they monitored these community sites and offered valuable input. A direct response from someone at Turbo Tax would be very helpful right now.
Wow just filed and it was accepted! Finally…!
May 1st, still no fix.
May 1st, still no communication from TurboTax about this issue.
Perhaps some pressure from the media will get them to at least communicate what the problem is, and why they have missed their own deadline to fix it.
Let's see what they have to say to CNBC about this.
That's great. Can you tell us what you did that was different that made it work?
Just tried resubmitting it again
Re-submitted and accepted this morning! Wonder when the update came through that allowed it to be accepted? No communication from TurboTax, no update this morning prior to re-submitting, I made no changes to the return at all between rejection and re-submitting. Also, there was still a message in my return about waiting for the update, but I decided to chance it anyway and resubmit. Very very disappointed in TurboTax about this and many other software issues this year. Sadly, TurboTax has been getting worse the last few years. I've been using TurboTax for many years and have gotten used to it, but this year's was such a fail on so many levels, it's time to switch.
Also re-submitted my taxes today and both state and federal went through. Glad to have joined this thread of other 'rejects' to follow concerning this issue. Many happy returns to y'all.
Anyone else try refiling? Did you have to make any changes or did it just go through?
@smithscl I refiled and both Fed and State were accepted. I did go to the Marketplace section of TT just to make sure it updated... but no idea if that was necessary or not.
For any of you that have Updates, Refiled and were Accepted: after you Updated, did you notice any change in the amount of your Federal or State refunds/owed? I've just Updated now on May 2nd but nothing seems to have changed in my amounts...
@ScottAMed - No change here to Fed or State. I had paid the previously listed amount as my State was due April 20. Fed does not show as received on IRS.gov, but State does, and lists it as Processing, so that's good I suppose.
If you efiled the state and it shows on the state site then the federal was also successfully efiled even if the IRS has no evidence of that ... check the IRS site every few days to see a progress report.
