credit card double charge for state returns

I was charged twice for e filing two state returns.  Have tried to get one charge refunded but can't find the proper way to do it.  The help page hasn't got a solution except that phone number which only gets me back to the help page and no-help from that page and around and around, etc.  Any instructions that will work?

Using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions there is an e-file charge for each state tax return e-filed (except New York which is free).  There is No one free e-file. 

The Free state program is the download, not an e-file.

For the Online version  or the Desktop program?  In the Desktop program it is $20 EACH to efile a state return including the first one.  And that is in addition to buying the second state program.  Or were these for different people in the same state?

This deluxe version was purchased from Staples on a cd.  The state returns are New Mexico and California.  I paid $43.16 on 2-13-2022 and $43.15 on 2-6-2022 for filing these state returns.  Please refund one of these charges...thanks.  BTW, isn't there engineering controls in place so that this situation can't occur?

Did your CD come with one state download?  They do sell Deluxe without a state for states without an income tax like Nevada.  Check your CD  or box.  It should say  Federal + Efile + State.

The Deluxe edition comes in two versions when purchased retail.  Did you pay for the Deluxe at $49.99 or the Deluxe at $39.99?

Then you should have received the first state download at no charge.  The second state download would be a charge.

You will have to contact TurboTax support and speak to an agent to get the first charge removed or refunded.  Use the key words billing issue.

I accepted the $20.00 charge for each state but I was charged twice ($40.00 and $40.00) for the two states.  I just want to reimbursed for the second charge but I can't seem to find someone from turbotax who will refund my credit card.  Once that is done this thread is complete.

I am filing only one Utah tax return and the software is demanding a second charge.  I double checked my cr card that first charge went through but Turbo Tax is still demanding a second.
