Apply ITIN for my wife. How long will it take ?

NO ONE can tell exactly how long it will take to issue an ITIN since there are too many factors to consider.  Those kind enough to update their threads  have reported an average of 8 weeks however past performance cannot be used to predict  future performance.  It could take months and there is nothing you can do but wait.

In the case that the IRS send a letter asking for more information How much time do they give you to answer the letter?

Read the notice ... but usually 30 days.

I do not get any notice yet but I have to be away for two weeks I have cancelled medical issues because waiting for the ITIN

In my case, they give us roughly 45 days to send the documents.

Hi I just got the CP567 they asking me to complete a new form W-7

They prefer original documents if yousubmitting a copy the agency that issued or martens the original must certify it because the IRS no longer accepts notarized copies 

All what they are asking was certified with an IRS Acceptance Agent and the documents the right ones so

Why they are asking me to resent the same thing again? Is that normal?

I have the feeling they sent the same letter to everyone no matter what.

At least now I have a case # 
I hope on Monday we can cal them

Anyone with the same experience?

Any suggestions ?

How long is the expected wait for filers from May? 

I sent my W7 application (with original passport) to the IRS on May 5 and on May 7 IRS cashed in my check that was inclosed

with it. 

No news of ITIN or passport return at this point and I think April filers are also waiting.

Id been  trying to call to the number on the right top they provide on the CP567 letter they sent me to ask an important question and a message  comes out: “this number is not available at this time” all they long . They have certain days a week to answer calls or this service is not working any more? How contact them once have a case number

I sent my paper tax return and ITIN application for my wife in Feb 12, they processed my tax return and deposited in June 28. I am still waiting ITIN letter. It takes 4 weeks to several months (even more than 6 months ) to process.
