Once your return has been accepted (received) by the government, they take over the refund status update duties, since they hold the purse strings. The status in TurboTax will remain as "accepted."
Check the IRS Where's My Refund site for the latest word on your federal tax refund, and your state government's refund lookup service for your state’s status.
Does this IRS "Where's My Refund" tool say your funds have actually been sent?
http://www.irs.gov/Refunds
Were you having the refund direct deposited to your bank account directly ?
If the IRS has actually sent the funds, the IRS FAQ page says to allow "up to 5 days" due to variations in bank processing procedures and times.
If so did you enter the correct routing & account number for an ACH transfer ? Here is how you can see your deposit information:
Your direct deposit information will be at the bottom of your Form 1040.
To view your 1040 after filing, Sign into TurboTax > Taxes > Tax Timeline > Some other things you can do > Download/print (.pdf).
Please see the following FAQ article below if you entered in the wrong bank account information.

Did you have the TT fees withheld from the federal refund and are getting the refund on the Turbo Tax Debit card?
If so the refund needs to go from the IRS to the third party bank to the card. This process can take up to 3 business days or more.

Same thing is happening to me! Although I’ve been patient and waiting and finally contacted TurboTax as I was instructed to do by the IRS and still no money! Almost a year later! I will NOT be using TurboTax ever again!
I need to do the same. Any advice you can give?
How does it go to green dot bank 🏦
@GOD107 When you sign up for Pay With My Refund, your refund will be handled through the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG, formerly SBBT).
You can go to the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group website if you need assistance with your refund.

I had the same issue. And now from reading some of these comments I am glad to know I am not the only one. Last year for 2019 taxes I do remember agreeing to the green dot bank statement. File my taxes and boom I did not receive my federal returns. I received my state taxes but federal has been MIA.. called turbo tax found no help and dont get me started with the IRS blaming COVID FOR EVERYTHING. Nobody seems to have a solution or answer when will I get me money. Not his year I am opting out of the green dot statement requirement. I never had an issue with turbo tax until that green dot bank came along smhh. I need help.
How would you get the money if it was deposited in a Green Dot Bank.. how they make these decision without notifying us of whats going on. This is absurd!
@ GigiJolifils14
Are you asking about a 2019 Federal refund you didn't receive. You mention Green Dot Bank but didn't say why. There are a couple of different ways Green Dot can be involved.
So did you chose the option to pay your 2019 TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund? If you did, then that process is handled by a Green Dot company called SBTPG (see more below).
Was your deposit supposed to go to your bank account, or did you choose to get your refund on a Turbo Visa Debit Card (also managed by Green Dot)?
Have you done these things:
First, have you spoken by phone with the IRS to be sure they sent your 2019 return, and where they sent it? If not, we can tell you how to reach a live agent at the IRS. There have been a very large number of delays at the IRS for various reasons. So first you need to find out if the IRS even sent it. So start with the IRS. If you can't get good info from the IRS, we can tell you how to contact the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service.
If you paid TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund, the IRS would send it to an intermediary bank (such as Green Dot Bank), that is handled by a third-party company SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group), where the fees are subtracted. Then that intermediary bank would have sent it on to your bank account (or card.) So if the IRS says they sent it out, and it went to an intermediary bank, then you can speak to the folks at SBTPG. We can tell you how. Or have you already spoken to that company?
Here's how to reach a live agent at the IRS:
800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
I always used Turbo Tax I filed my Taxes IRS refunded my money then it went through Turbotax green dot. They took 500.00 out of my refund. Cant find anyone to talk to why they did this.
$500 is an interesting number ... did you put the wrong amount of the first stimulus check by chance ? Or did you have a refund advance to pay back ? Did you check the IRS site to see how much the IRS released ?
What did you have to end up doing? I’m having the same problem now and I don’t know what to do!
@Haley9 Do you have a specific question that we can assist you with?
If you choose to use your refund to pay your fees-then why does it not disclose that a return deposit gets charged additional fees on top of that? I referred someone close to me to use Turbotax and their deposit didn't getto their account and they received a check minus an extra $100! This is horrible! There was no notification or anything. For Turbotax being the "taxpreparer" I would think some kind of notification on the profile or via message. This was a bad experience that is losing customers during a time they need their money but it's getting eaten by fees.
