Are you asking about a 2019 Federal refund you didn't receive. You mention Green Dot Bank but didn't say why. There are a couple of different ways Green Dot can be involved.
So did you chose the option to pay your 2019 TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund? If you did, then that process is handled by a Green Dot company called SBTPG (see more below).
Was your deposit supposed to go to your bank account, or did you choose to get your refund on a Turbo Visa Debit Card (also managed by Green Dot)?
Have you done these things:
First, have you spoken by phone with the IRS to be sure they sent your 2019 return, and where they sent it? If not, we can tell you how to reach a live agent at the IRS. There have been a very large number of delays at the IRS for various reasons. So first you need to find out if the IRS even sent it. So start with the IRS. If you can't get good info from the IRS, we can tell you how to contact the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service.
If you paid TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund, the IRS would send it to an intermediary bank (such as Green Dot Bank), that is handled by a third-party company SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group), where the fees are subtracted. Then that intermediary bank would have sent it on to your bank account (or card.) So if the IRS says they sent it out, and it went to an intermediary bank, then you can speak to the folks at SBTPG. We can tell you how. Or have you already spoken to that company?
Here's how to reach a live agent at the IRS:
800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
- First choose your language. Then listen to each menu before making the selection.
- Then press 2 for "personal income tax".
- Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
- Then press 3 "for all other questions."
- Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- It may then ask for your SSN, but do not enter it. Just wait. If it asks for SSN a second time, still do not enter it.
- Then it will get "tired", and you'll get another menu. Choose 2 for "personal".
- Then in the next menu choose 4 for "all other inquiries", and it should transfer you to an agent but expect a long wait.
- I usually use a speakerphone so I can work on something else while waiting.
