I wanted to know how to print last year 2018's tax returns.  I waited all after noon with no result.

You need your 2018 AGI to efile 2019. The AGI is on 2018 1040 line 7.

I keep getting a message that says "Looks like you did not file your 2018 taxes with Turbo Tax." I spent 4 hours on the phone yesterday with a TurboTax representative explaining to them that I have the emails they sent me proving that I filed on Turbo Tax.  Nothing can be found and it will not import the 2018 information from Turbo Tax to my 2019 Turbo Tax program.  I have just wasted my money.

Did you use the account recovery website?

You have to sign onto your 2018 online account using the exact same user ID you used to create the 2018 online account.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one).  Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the user ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your 2018 account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

I filed my 2018 return with Turbo Tax. I go on today and it is saying I never filed a 2018 return which is incorrect.

I have tried to speak to someone in person but have gotten no where. My whole turbo tax returns have been WIPED. Total and complete BULL**bleep**!

@BP1966  What do you mean update 2018?  Do you want to transfer your 2018 return into 2019?  From online or Desktop and to where?

You have to use or buy a new program each year.  You can not update the 2018 program to be for 2019.

I did get that prompt the first time I began my 2019 return, but, as I explained, I apparently accidentally deleted what I was filling in - thinking I was saving it to return later.  When I opened the return later, I was at the beginning again EXECPT THIS TIME THERE WAS NO PROMPT TELLING ME TO IMPORT LAST YEAR FROM THIS COMPUTER if I wanted to.  The new 2019 questions weren’t filled with any of the prior years data meaning I have to fill in all the info about my income again - where it came from etc.  How do I restart and get that prompt??

I followed the steps and got the prompt:"Use a tax return that's on my computer”  which I hit and it was fine UNTIL I tried to save my work to return to it later.  When I returned later I couldn’t find my partially completed work - it was apparently deleted.  When I started over from scratch the prompt to use a tax return that’s on my computer DIDN’T show up.

You only get to import as the first step on the Begin screen with a new tax return.  Use the File -> Save in the menu bar to save the tax return.
