This is the case & I can't get a hold of nobody via phone is there a number you can provide that actually works?

It's been more than 10 weeks and the IRS is still playing with my **bleep** money

I filed in early april and everytime I get someone at IRS after a very long wait on phone, the answer is the same. It is processing, waiting for it to be assigned to an agent...AFTER 60 days!!!  And turbo tax wants to charge my credit card on June 11 because they were to deduct their fee from my refund...So I can wait but this large corporation can not!!! BS and I will never use Turbotax again and I have used it for over 10 years!!!!

Same problem.

Turbo Tax showed I was approved by IRS and should have my return by 3/26.  I talked to someone at Turbo TAX and was told I'm in the green which meant just waiting on the IRS.  I was told there is no rhyme or reason when they will approve it. Two days later I recieved an email from Turbo saying they need to bill me for there services .

THANKS FOR THE HELP,

It's been more than 10 weeks and the IRS is still playing with my **bleep** money

Turbo Tax can't know or tell you it was Approved, only Accepted for Processing.  Now it's up to the IRS to process and approve it.  The IRS doesn't update Turbo Tax.

Sounds like the IRS is taking too long to send your refund or reduced it. See What if the IRS reduces your refund or delays it.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/payments/help/what-if-my-federal-refund-isn-t-enough-to-cover-my-t...

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees. If you don't pay they will debit your account. You had to agree to it.

@nottus21 TurboTax never says your refund is "approved."  TurboTax only tells you if the IRS "accepted" your return.   Those two words do not mean the same thing.   Once your return has been accepted, TurboTax does not get any information----TT never knows if you  refund was approved, or if you received your refund or if it was offset for a debt you owed, or if it was delayed by the IRS backlog.

TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

As of May 15, 2021, we had 300,000 individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of May 15, 2021, we had 16.4 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.

RE: above issue,

I'm in the same boat. I tried calling, after a long announcement, they hung up on me.  Due to the enormous amount of calls there is no one to take my call presently, the hold time is extremely long or whatever...., call back at another time.

Its times up time.  What to do now?  Does anyone really know?  IDK what to do.  write a letter to IRS maybe?  Is there a live chat?  Can someone at Turbo Tax help me verify my identity?, just trying to verify my identity so I can get my tax refund which will be another 9 weeks to receive after I verify my identity the letter says.

It's been more than 10 weeks and the IRS is still playing with my **bleep** money

@day10native No one at TurboTax can help you verify your identity.   Only you can do that.   TurboTax is a software company.    The software does not know if what you entered was accurate, true, complete or fraudulent and has no way to tell the IRS that your entries are true and correct.   Sometimes the IRS randomly requests identity verification as a fraud prevention measure and sometimes something on your return triggers the request for identity verification.   In order to get your refund you have to provide the IRS with the information they requested.

(and no, the IRS does not have live chat.)

I HAVE TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY

Welcome to the club, I filed about May 15th with no errors and here I sit waiting on my "21 Day Return".  I understand part of the wait is because of the pandemic and they couldn't work.  However, they are back to work and now the self-imposed deadline of 21 days has come and passed.  I too would like my return, Turbo Tax wants to get paid despite them saying they would wait until I received my return.  I guess even they do not keep their word these days.  how did you reach and Advocate?

It's been more than 10 weeks and the IRS is still playing with my **bleep** money

Turbo tax did that plus 2 years straight had me supposedly owing the IRS n they decided to charge me another 30. Bucks to amend my taxes. I lost my job and can't pay and even I want my money back they took.

It's been more than 10 weeks and the IRS is still playing with my **bleep** money

Well I'm with the rest of yall. I have used TurboTax for several years and have recommended them to many of my friends and family, but like myself and many of you they are completely beside themselves over the way TurboTax has handled their taxes over the last couple years. So they nor I will ever use TurboTax again. In fact a few of us are considering taking legal action against them.

It's been more than 10 weeks and the IRS is still playing with my **bleep** money

I had no trouble with getting my 2017, 18 and 2019 taxes done through TurboTax but the crap they are pulling now is completely outrageous and has to be illegal somehow. How does a company stay in business when you can't even get a live response. That's how they AND the government offices are getting away with all this bull**bleep**.  It's all automated and you can't guarantee anyone even sees your messages.

@bigbrock1 You have not mentioned or detailed any specific reason why you blame a software company for your delayed refund.   Perhaps you do not fully understand the backlog that exists at the IRS or understand that a software company has no control over the IRS.  There are millions of people who have filed tax returns --using all sorts of tax software--- who are waiting for their refunds.  Some people are even waiting for their 2019 refunds.    There were millions of mailed 2019 returns that ended up in trailers outside the IRS for months, and the IRS is still digging through those, too.

All of my friends have told me that it has taken 3 months to get their tax returns, that they e-filed.  So far, it's been 15 weeks, for us, and no return.  But Turbo Tax is still billing us for all prep and filing fees.
