Indiana return is ineligible for e-filing because: At least two of the four withholding and wage amounts on W-2 statement have same dollar amount. What does this mean?

It is saying I can still print my state return and file it by mail, but I want to make sure there isn't an issue before doing so.

You can print your state return and mail it in or if you'd prefer to e-file it, please reach out to our customer service support reps for assistance with working past this error message.

If the program imported the information from the federal portion, it should be correct.  Furthermore, there is no easy option to review the information in the state portion.  Frankly, the interface revisions are not very good.

You need a better explanation other than paper file. Is this a withholding or wage issue? On the W-2, Box 1, 16, and 18 are the same as they should be and never caused an issue in the past. All withholdings are different and correctly entered. How can this be resolved without paper filing, especially since you let me pay the $20 state e-filing fee first before telling me there was an issue???

If you have  "withholding and wage amounts on W-2 statement have same dollar amount" then review your entries again ... look at boxes 2, 17 & 19 this time ... did you accidentally enter the amount from 1, 16 or 18 by mistake ?

Sometimes this issue comes up if you've entered cents. Try using whole dollar amounts if you have, for example 2500.00.

It could mean you entered the W-2 twice.

Therefore, please review your Wages and Income section and revisit your W-2 entries.  If you need to delete and reenter your W-2s, please follow the instructions below:

In TurboTax Online or CD/Download:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. From the menu, select Search and type in W-2.
  3. Select the Jump to link in the search results.
  4. On the Your W-2 info so far screen, select Edit next to the W-2 you want to change.
  5. Select the trash can Delete icon to delete the W-2.

Review the link below as well for more information:

How to Change W-2

Once you remove, clear your Cache before logging back in and reenter the W-2.

This thread is very old and we have no heard of this issue this year.

How many W-2's did you enter?

What is the error you are getting?

Did you type in the W-2 or import it (them) ?
