Where are you trying to cash your check? If you have an actual bank account at a brick and mortar bank, you could simply deposit the check and wait for the check to clear and use the money as needed, like people do with normal checking accounts. Do you not have a bank account? Are you just going to "check cashing" places that charge a fee to cash a check?

Same issues here! It’s crazy. Walmart said they couldn’t cash it because it was showing “fraudulent instrument”. What is going on?? The check cashing place cashed it but called me back to say they couldn’t verify with the phone number on the check. My info could not be found. Is there another lawsuit about to happen? And before someone gets smart- no- I don’t have a bank account. I am currently in the middle of changing banks due to a divorce.
Um OMG how stupid of me!🤬 to answer your question yes I do and I also have a paypal account and I still couldn't deposit it fun fact regardless of what you do deposit it or cash it the **bleep**ing check has to be verified and they apparently can not verify it my bank and every were else has said the same thing they can't verify it soooooooo if you don't have any helpful information for me you can kindly **bleep** right the **beep** off thank you so very much
I have tried calling you all I get is a computer
It's out of Turbotax's hands to deal with your situation.
were you expecting a refund? Was it what yo were expecting? Maybe your spouse filed and claimed the refund. Also, there are many refund scams going around including the issuance of fake refub=nd checks to taxpayers. then a person saying they are with the IRS calls and says you must return the money using personal funds.
> Do not deposit or cash the check until you have confirmed its authenticity with the IRS.
> Contact the IRS directly by calling their toll-free numbers: 800-829-1040 (for individuals) or 800-829-4933 (for businesses).
> Explain the situation to an IRS agent and ask for verification.
> The IRS agent will assist you in determining why you received the check and whether anyone else filed for it without your knowledge.
> If it is determined to be fraudulent, report it to the IRS immediately to protect yourself from further financial losses.
Where do they find these people?

Have they given you a solution? I literally am having the same problem and something told me to google search it and this was the first forum that popped up. They told me there would be a solution within 3 days and they have a team working on it.
Who did you talk to that gave you that information. I received my check yesterday and tried to cash it at 3 different places and all 3 refused it .
I called the number on the check, they transferred me a couple times then that’s what they told me.
What check cashing place did you get yours cashed because everywhere I’m going there denying me?
Same I received my check yesterday morning an no one will cash it .an when I call the bank that the check came from no one answers the phone an turbo says they will be calling bk in 3days to try in fix the problem
Most of us cannot wait 3 days. Boycott TurboTax for next year. NEVER AGAIN.
