How can I get past the audit defense screen?

I checked off the "No Thanks" for Audit Defense but when I'm ready to e-file the program continues to want a credit card or authorization to deduct from the refund. How can I complete the return without Audit Defense. There's no way past this screen. Please help.

Are your California?  Audit Defense is part of the Pay with Refund fee.  You need to pay upfront with a credit card to remove it.

You did not answer the original question.  If one does not want Audit Defense for $45, how can one file?

You will need to follow the below instructions to remove the Premium Services and then you should still be able to file:

You need to pay the fees with a credit card.  Go back through the File tab and read the screens slowly and watch what you click on.  

If you are in California you need to remove the Premium Service first.  This might be for the Online version.  For Desktop program go though the File tab again.
