In 2016, I purchased TurboTax Delux and Electronic Filing (Order Number TTWQPIR34090850) and I believe I filed on April 14, 2016. In June 2020, IRS sent me a Notice CP63 that they had not received my 2015 Form 1040 and I did not pay taxes owed.
I moved in the interim and have a new computer, the records I seem to have on 2015 taxes are sketchy. Bottom line I am unable to confirm that I actually filed the Form 1040 and that I actually did pay the taxes due. I am hoping that TurboTax might be able to help by providing a confirmation that my complete tax return was filed, and even better, that I used a specific credit card account to pay taxes owed. Please advise
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You can use the recovery tool to search for a 2015 return you filed using TurboTax. But TurboTax is not going to be able to confirm that you paid the tax due. TT never knows if you paid. If there is bank or credit card information contained in your tax file then you will need to follow up with the bank or CC company to see if the payment was made.
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.
Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
