Tax Year Prior to 2020: I traveled for 3 weeks internationally for a contract--a 1099. Receipts are hard to get in these countries used cash can I use the State Dept Per Diem rates as expenses?

I assume that airfare and long distance travel--used Train and Bus in Turkey are additional.
