Are you receiving an error message when you try to file your income tax? Please respond back so that we can try to help.
I get this error:
TurboTax Deluxe for Mac. I am receiving an error message that returns did not transmit due to updates available, but there are no updates. I have tried two different computers, same error. I was able to transmit two returns successfully last week but this week the error started. I have deleted and reinstalled just to get the same error. I have no state return.
Please see the TurboTax help topic for assistance with updating your software: Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software (Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Home & Business).
Also, try turning off your virus protection and then turn it back on after your return saves. Please click here for the TurboTax Help link on how to disable virus protection. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/how-to-disable-your-virus-protection-software/00/2...
This doesn’t help considering I said in the very first sentence that I’m using a Mac. That said, I have no antivirus software installed.

I’ve already tried this. I can search these boards just like you. Sorry, I thought I might get more detailed support here but I was wrong.
I called support last night and was told that it’s a known issue but I’m starting to wonder if she was just trying to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. This may be my last year out of 10 or so using TurboTax.
Here is a FAQ that was recently published that could be helpful to you.
"TurboTax needs to check for Updates" loop when attempting to e-file on Mac
* Update *
I opened TurboTax this afternoon and it prompted me to download an update as soon as the program opened. From there the transmission was successful.
Apparently it was a known issue and a fix solved my problem. None of the manual stuff suggested here worked.
I’ve read that state forms was causing the problem, but I live in Texas where there are no state income taxes.
