Claiming a dependent has many benefits, depending on who your dependent is, and what other credits they will qualify for. Some of the benefits is that you could qualify for Child Tax Credit, the Credit for Other Dependents, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and the Child and Dependent Care Credit among others benefits.
