I purchased the CD from Costco, used it and completed my taxes but did not realized I had been doing it online until Intuit message asked me to pay $45. Where can I enter the license code after the fact.
Sorry you can't apply the License Code from the Desktop CD/Download program purchase to the Online version. They are separate prices and work different.
You need to install the program on your computer and move your online return to the Desktop program. To continue in the desktop version see this…….
After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).
Or pay for Online and get a refund from the Desktop program.
Are you sure you used online? Was there a black menu column down the left side? You may have used your Desktop program but there can be additional fees in Desktop.
It is $20 to efile a state return. And an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) to have the fee deducted from your refund. Or if you needed to buy a state program.
I used The turbotax deluxe I bought from sam. Filed my taxes. License code box never came up. Where do I put my license code.
It would have been entered on the install screen. For more information on where to enter your license code please visit the Help Article below.

Something is confusing. You say you filed your taxes. You can't use the desktop software unless you enter the activation code at the end of installation before it will even open the TurboTax program. It won't let you proceed without it.
Did you install the software you purchased? Since you said "filed my taxes", could you have used Online TurboTax (web version) by mistake instead of using the software you purchased? If so, then Online TurboTax would ask you to pay again. The 2 products are not interchangeable. We can tell you what to do if that's your situation.
