This happens even after restart TurboTax. My guess is that it might choke on large number of security transactions.
This is on 64-bit Windows 10. Task Manager shows: TurboTax (32 bit), Not responding, 24% CPU, 698.2 MB memory, ...
Overall CPU 60%, Memory 55%, 10% Disk, 0% Network

Troubleshooting Turbo Tax Software
Hi,
I also had the same issue as 'longtimeuser20'. If I went directly to 'Investment Income' -> Stocks, Mutual Funds and clicked 'Update', it experience the same thing 'Not Responding'.
Thanks.
If the program is still not responding and you are using the Online version, I would suggest closing out of TurboTax, clearing your cache and deleting your cookies and rebooting.
If you are using the Download version, please perform a manual update.
If you continue to have this issue, please reach back out to us or reach out to TurboTax Customer Care: What is the TurboTax phone number?
I am running into this problem now and can't proceed any further - this is stopping me from completing my taxes as I cannot inspect any of the stock transactions. I have checked the install and the there is no issue with meeting system requirements with my PC.
Please advise.
longtimeuser20, did you by any chance get around this problem? would appreciate it if you have a workaround.
The issue seems to be related to disk I/O.
On the HP laptop with a hard drive, TurboTax Premier 2020 is experiencing extreme delay. TurboTax became responsive after 2+ hours. Subsequent delay could still be a few minutes each time I access the investment section; but at least I could continue.
Since I have a newer Lenovo laptop with a solid state drive, I installed TurboTax Premier 2020 and experienced only minimum delay.
Since both laptops have plenty of processors and memory, I guess the key difference is the speed of their storage.
I am having *precisely* the same crashing problem as the original poster, to the letter.
FYI, this is a brand new Dell gaming laptop 64 bit w/ SSD drive, the specs vastly exceed the minimum requirements to run TurboTax.
I am curious why TurboTax doesn't have a Windows x64 version. In general, I find that running 32 bit software is very unstable on a Windows 64 bit machine.
I have done everything you all have recommended to no avail. Turbo tax Premier is not responding going from one section to another under income, particularly to investments? I have spend two days uninstalling, downloading manually, defragementing, updating, etc and it still will say "not responding" and sits there spinning. I have used this many years and did both my mothers using this same CD with no issues. HELP?
