TurboTax Desktop - how do I import my info and prior tax return on Mac?

I am signed into the 2021 TurboTax desktop version with the same username/password I've always used for TurboTax online. I don't see any of my info imported and it is asking me to start from scratch.

If you completed the 2020 tax return using the TurboTax online editions you will need to download the 2020 tax data file to your computer and then browse to the location where it was download when you start a new 2021 tax return using the desktop edition.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download .tax file

Ok ... if you used the online in the past and are using the downloaded program this year then you must have the .tax2020 file  from the online program to transfer into the 2021 downloaded version.   Did you save that file yet ?

And you don't sign into the Desktop program.   Did you get it installed and Activated with the 16 digit License Code?   

You need to download the .tax file from online to transfer into the Desktop program.  Log into your account.  Under Your tax returns & documents, select Download .tax file (not the PDF) for the prior year you want and save it to your computer. Then start a new blank return, go up to File-New and transfer from the .tax file you saved.

Or another way is to start a 2021 Online return and transfer into that.  Then you can download the .tax2021 file from online for free and just OPEN it in the Desktop program.
