I was a full time student last year. shouldn't I be getting back everything I paid in like I did last year?

Students are not exempt from paying income tax. If you were a dependent on your parents' return, as many students are, then you do not get the the personal exemption of $4050 for yourself (your parents get it). So any income you had over $6300 is taxable.
