If you look at the opening screen in
TurboTax2020 At the bottom of the page you will see the offer for Quicken2020. It is through Intuit and it states nothing about the length of the relationship with Intuit.

If Quicken, TurboTax, and QuickBooks were different companies, then why do they all fall under the same website for support and reference? Because they are all part of Intuit.
So the banner for the offer in TurboTax is not being honored by Intuit? There is some Customer Protection in place to prevent this.
Quicken is no longer part if Intuit. They sold Quicken like 4 or 5 years ago. Go to the Quicken Forum here…
That's interesting - I had no idea that Quicken had spun off from Intuit in 2015. Interestingly, Intuit still owns the name "Quicken" and licenses it to Quicken.
The question remains, though - why does Turbotax 2020 include a link on the file opening page for a free one year subscription to Quicken Starter? I, too, wanted that free trial, and wanted to start it with the beginning of the year. (I ended up on this forum because I was getting the same "Oops we had a hiccup!" message when I clicked on the "Claim this offer" button.)
I'll be interested to see if Intuit/TT has an answer.
I would agree with the individual who posted the image showing the offer within TurboTax 2020's software, offering Quicken 2021 within the TT software as part of purchase. Not an Amazon deal...it is a Intuit deal. The same link worked in last year's software as they had they offer for at least the last couple of years.
Yes, Intuit sold Quicken years ago and it is now overpriced yearly subscription crap, but that doesn't mean that they can't have this deal offered in TT. It appears that Intuit either forgot to remove the deal as they no longer have the permission for the offer or forgot to update the link to get the deal. With Intuit getting sloppy with its lacked of a detailed update history log..neither is a surprise. Personally, I say stick with an old version of Quicken, the new version is the same with the exception of charging you yearly now instead of having to renew every 3 years.
Just found this article published online... so I guess that answers the question on why it isn't working. And yes to Intuit being sloppy with updating their software.
Updated on Saturday December 19th, 2020: For all of you folks looking to find the TurboTax-Quicken bundle from previous years, we’re sorry to say they it’s no longer being offered. That’s because Quicken is no longer part of the Intuit software family as the brand was sold off a few years ago (the buyers being a few old Quicken executives which spun off a new company).
But not all is lost — You can still pick up the the Quickbooks-TurboTax bundle discount. You can also check out our main TurboTax deals page for all the latest, up-to-date deals and coupons available on TurboTax software.
I saw that article too, but I don't think it's an official statement from either company but instead an independent software reseller. This deal was available in the past post spin off.
Wrong this is NOT an Amazon offer the OP is talking about it's an Intuit TT offer! This is an offer embedded in the TurboTax Software not the Amazon webpage. The link for the offer comes up in the process of installation. I bought TT Premier CD version from Amazon and I have the offer plain as day. The link which it says is to Intuit Servers however does not work. I have read that Intuit had this offer several years ago within TurboTax. Could it be that Intuit is so inept as to not take this broken link out after they sold the Quicken Software rights to another company?
I called TurboTax and got the run around from some lady that Intuit knew nothing about the offer. She told me to call Quicken support. Curious since the offer was embedded with Intuit's software and they claim no knowledge.

This offer is NOT embedded in any any TurboTax product that TurboTax sells. It would appear to ONLY be in the download available from Amazon. Perhaps it is a something that Amazon paid TurboTax to insert in the Amazon download only. It is not in any TurboTax version downloaded form TurboTax, BestBuy, Costco, etc.
Does anybody have the exact link that it points the browser to (i.e. https://xxxxx.com)?
I looked at the Turbotax logs and it appears to be making a REST API call to some Quicken or Intuit service, and receiving an invalid response.
My guess is that Quicken or Intuit has not activated this REST API yet.

That is not correct.. This is on the TurboTax DVD that I installed and not any download via Amazon..the offer is within the Turbo tax software on its main opening page at the bottom. I did not download anything from Amazon.
Dan:
You might be correct, since they had this offer last year, but my guess is that Intuit got sloppy and forgot to remove the offer.. Heck, they no longer even provide detailed update history logs anymore, so it would not be a surprise in that regard that they haven't bothered to remove the link within TT.
Is it a 2020 CD? Can you post a screen shot of where it's showing it?
