I was finally able to activate after creating a fresh user on my Mac and installing from that user.
1/20/2024. Still not able to connect to the internet. Did everything suggested by other replies.

You should contact TurboTax directly if you have already allowed TurboTax software access through your anti-virus software.
There was a known intermittent connectivity issue around 1/10/25 that has been solved. Can you please share more information about your operating system and version if you are still having a problem?
I am running Windows 10, version 22H2, OS Build 19045.5371, 64GB RAM, 64 bit system, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1505M v6 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz. Using Norton 360. I have turned off every feature in Norton short of deleting the complete program. Still no success.
I am going to suggest these steps below. I think you might be having an issue other users have experienced with installing when using Windows 10.
I have the same problem on my TurboTax 2024 and 2023 Desktop apps. I checked my TurboTax 2023 from last year and it does the same thing trying to open the installed software. It will download the TurboTax 2024 software onto my hard drive connected through my Internet and will download and install updates to TurboTax but will not connect to the internet to activate the software. Help has indicated it is an Apple problem but this is not the problem it is TurboTax with no answers on how to fix this problem. This will be the end of using TurboTax for preparing my tax returns.
No TurboTax has not fixed the connectivity problem as I have been trying everything for almost two weeks and I am still not able to connect through the internet to activate TurboTax. It will download any updates to the software and install them but then indicates "no internet connection" in order to activate my software. No help from TurboTax as they said I am the only one with this problem.
I had such high hopes for this to work. I followed your instructions to-the-letter. Program does not connect to the internet. Went back to double check that the changes were still there and correct. Then took an extra step and deleted turbo tax and reinstalled. Still no success. Checked to insure that I was indeed connected to the internet and that it was functioning properly. I have another laptop with windows 11. I hate windows 11, but will install the program there and see if it will works. I will update you at that time. Wish me luck.
That is indeed not true. I have tried every suggestion noted on this web site. If and when I succeed, I will update to you.
Installed my current copy of Turbo Tax 2024 on another laptop that has Windows 11 installed. I set up the laptop as an emergency laptop, should I loose my regular system. All same programs installed such as my Norton 360 anti-virus program. That copy installed perfectly without any flaws. Updated, entered the Activation number and activated with Turbo Tax web site. Runs like a champ. Entering information as I write this. So it is most definitely a Windows 10 operating system problem, as I see it. Shame on you Turbo Tax. I don't want to fuss hours for a program to function. I am not your system analysis, nor your guinea pig.
I added another User to my macOS and downloaded the TurboTax 2024 software. Everything worked fine except now I can only do my taxes through my Dummy User. It will not work under my User profile. Problem with TurboTax Servers. Why do we have to do this after paying for a software. TurboTax should probably go out of business after this tax year. Absolutely no help from them.
Yep - that's the same for me. Far less than ideal, but at least there's some way to use it. I'm hopeful that a future update fixes what's going on, but for now I'm going to use the dummy user, and then move the tax file back to my regular user after filing.
From my analysis of the log files, I think it's trying to use some password file from prior turbotax years, and it's getting an error. Might have something to do with the move from keychain to password app in Mac with Sequoia. But that's where I gave up.
At this point, I don't think TurboTax has really acknowledged there's an issue with their software ... and just assumes it's an issue with the user.
Most folks having issues with installing TurboTax this year are using Windows 11.
Make sure you have administrator rights on your Windows 10 computer.

You are not the only one with this problem - I've had the same problem with both 2023 & 2024 Turbo Tax premier products. If I come up with a solution I'll let you know, TT support tried to help me in 2023 by sending me a fresh copy of the installation file & inserting a message that popped up after the install but before activation, asking "did this solve your problem?". And I had to respond before the program would would continue, and then of course the activation failed & there was no way to alert them that the new file didn't work. This is very frustrating for sure.
