Why am I being told the maximum number of activations have been reached....

 

I have just submitted a fraud report with the FTC also. I purchased my turbotax home & business program from walmart.com.  The seller emailed me the code and I activated it on turbotax.intuit.com's website (in my account) that night.

This was back in October 2022.  I downloaded the program and installed it.  No problems there, seen it showed up with my other turbotax items. 

 

I go to open my Turbotax Home & Business 2021 program that worked fine a few months ago this evening (1/14/2023) and it wants me to activate... WTF.  It took me a minute, but I tracked down the activation code and then I get the "maximum number of activations reached".  BULL SH!~  I have only installed this program ONE TIME and ONE TIME only on this computer!  TOTAL FRAUDS.   

 

Turbotax just paid $141 MILLION due to FRAUD and they were sued by the FTC.  I see they still haven't learned their lesson.

Since you knew that the activation code had only been used once why did you not just contact TurboTax support so they could assist you in correcting this problem.

Did you try this?  Make sure your computer is the same way when you originally installed it.  Like with no flash drives plugged in or plugged in if one was.  It asked me to activate again so I just closed the program and took out a flash drive that was plugged in and tried again.  It worked.  Or you may need to connect a flash drive or printer or something that was connected when you originally installed the program.  One person found to disable his virus scanner and firewall first and then it opened.

oh gee, I wish I had thought of that... oh wait, I DID. Of course, I knew they weren't going to be open when I posted that message as it was around 1am on a early Sunday morning, but I called them anyway.

 

You have probably never tried to call turbotax or you would know how difficult it is to A) get in touch with a live person and B) getting a competent person to handle you complaint .

I don't have any flash drives installed and reading your post, although I understand you're trying to be helpful and I appreciate that, it is absolutely ridiculous for an end user to have to go through all of those 'hoops' just to use a program they paid for.  Disable virus protection, disable firewall?  Seriously!  intuit needs ANOTHER class action suit to teach it a lesson.

 

I will NEVER EVER buy another intuit turbotax product again and I still encourage EVERYONE who experiences these ludicrous issues to file a complaint with the FTC.  https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/

 

I went to Freetaxusa (after verifying they were in fact, legit) and did what I needed to do there.  Took me longer but well worth NOT having to deal with garbage software and even worse trashy humans behind it.

Well this forum has years of answers and the one you needed has been posted many many times so if you had posted that question here first you may have found the answer before getting angry.  Next time try here first.

Well please, show me the thread that contains the working answer for my problem; not just the cause.  The fact that it even happens at all could be an entirely new thread post.... however, back to your statement, I'd also like to know how you are %100 I did not search these forums and/or google before posting.......

You have been so helpful.  It's no wonder you're not higher on the intuit food chain..............  Except you're not helpful, you're a condescending troll... and a bad one at that.  I like how you try to stick up for a trash product with known flaws from a company that just got sued by the FTC for deceiving its customers.  That's heroic.  

 

Don't get mad at me for pointing out problems with YOUR fanboy company... be a gem and help fix them... or don't reply
