@mwilcox1 @Jill V @Anonymous @gyrowrestler @benmarti710 I was finally able to get to the sign in work by following the suggestion Ron1000 tried as explained in the following link
Shame on Turbotax for not making it work properly at the first place, but it's a workaround for now, at least worked for me.
Same problem. Tried many fixes over 3.5 hours with the tech. She was great - this product is NOT!!
2- 28 still Not working nor us the patch.
Same problem, same attempts to resolve, same negative results.
Finally, I succeeded after updating my video driver. I recommend anyone still having issues check for the current video driver recommended by your OEM.
I was finally able to get it to work using the suggestion to update the screen resolution to 800x600 and then gradually worked my way up to 1280 resolution - each time generating the pop-up screen to log in. Even then, I could see the Name/Password fields but could not see the cursor or any characters in the field when I typed. Additionally, I received a text at the same time I hit enter from Intuit with a verification code. Without doing anything else on my computer I typed the numbers on my keypad and pressed Return (there was no popup or entry screen displayed so I had no idea if what I was typing would work). Luckily, it worked!
I feel like this was more luck than anything - TurboTax needs to provide a workable solution that any legitimate software company should be able to provide. User Interface errors with screen resolution issues are junior level coding mistakes that can't take weeks to fix.
Thank You gyrowrestler and benmarti710.
Retried to import a few more times using your suggestions and somehow the import succeeded. Used a text size of 100% and display resolution of 1024x768. It seems that when I would minimize the app. the screen would update with the information entered.
Get same empty white box trying to logon here. I have reinstalled, run as administrator, messed with resolution and scale, no luck (I do get the boxes for entering user name and password with messing with resolution, but can't get into the box to enter data)
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. An update last week was supposed to resolve this, however, some customers are still running into a blank screen when trying to import their investments. If you are still experiencing a white screen, please try updating your video card driver.
would my NEW laptop come with the recommended video driver? How would I find a different one and change it
I have tried all this. Just spent 45 minutes on the phone with turbotax expert, mostly on hold and then the call was cut off. She had me download "glance" that let her look at my screen, told me it was Fidelity's problem, I said it wasn't because I was trying to signon from the file drop down menu. Had nothing to do with Fidelity. Then she told me I would just have to enter data by hand. I told her I would take a refund and go to another company. She went back on hold, then the call was dropped. Turbotax has a problem they either don't want to admit or fix, or they don't know how to fix.
I wish they would just drop the logon to turbotax to import. It has never been there before. I don't need their extra security
TurboTax Administrator @SuziM shared this TT article with me. Maybe it'll help a couple of us? I have yet to attempt importing from my financial institution. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
@tjturtle I was having the same issue. There was an update that I had to install for my laptop from the manufacturer, in my case it was Lenovo. I was having issues seeing other things on news feeds too. Another suggestion is to check your virus protection activity as there may be something you need to allow to go through.
Honestly I have learned that typing on my own the input is always best. Seems the brokers often send erroneous fields and I spend more time importing than just typing myself..
I'm hoping this helps. I did see that this was given to admin of TT already by @Kat
Hoping this works out fast for you.
