Some TurboTax Desktop for Windows customers are experiencing a blank screen during product activation or during purchase of additional states, product upgrades, or when paying for state e-file fees. This issue is caused by video card driver incompatibility with certain video cards.

How can I update my video card driver?

This issue can be fixed with a video card driver update for Tax Year 2020 and prior years. To resolve this error, update your video card drivers to the most recent version.

You can update your video card driver by visiting your video card manufacturer’s website. For some integrated system video cards, you can also do this via a Windows update.

If you are running TurboTax Desktop 2021 or 2022, please update your software. This should resolve your issue.
