Where is the form 8915-f for 2023 filing of 2022 taxes?

I urge Turbo Tax to take immediate action and release the required forms for use as soon as possible. Working families and individuals are relying on this service to file their taxes accurately and on time, and the delay is causing unnecessary stress and hardship.

I hope that Turbo Tax will take this matter seriously and do everything possible to rectify the situation promptly.

Dear Turbo Tax folks: are any of you monitoring this thread? Hopefully so but then given your track record to date on it I am wondering if maybe you all have your head buried in the sand or up your .......... but I digress. I am putting this here to let you know that I intend on filing with another service and then disputing the charges for the services I have not received. Technically I would almost think this is theft by deception as at no point prior to you accepting my payment did you notify me that I would not be able to file. And you are laying it all on the IRS not having the form available which from what I can tell is untrue. 

I hope that everyone reading this does the same although they (Intuit) probably could not care less. This is ridiculous to the point now where I feel like Charlie Brown and the **bleep** football. You keep telling us that it will be available on a certain date, we show up all hopeful that maybe just maybe Lucy will keep the ball there so we can kick it only to once again fall flat on our a$$. But we show up again 2 weeks later for the same futile exercise, shame on us now (once shame on you but now it's on us). Let's do this thing people, enough is enough and as they have not provided the service we paid for at the time we paid for them (with no caveat from Intuit about the problem until after the funds were sent) I believe that getting our $$$ back should be easy.

I will seek a full refund or dispute the charges with my credit card company. There was no explanation as to why I couldn’t pay with my refund as usual or why I wouldn’t be able to file following submitting a payment for services to file my taxes. This is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone else I know who has used other tax prep services has filed already, and some are already receiving their refunds. There is no reason that the date has moved around, and the forms are available. This feels like theft.

They have delayed this form since February while IRS released it on January 2023.

Will it be ready on March 09th, 2023?

They should be ashamed on themselves if this form is NOT ready....

This is such a joke. It's already bad enough that TurboTax is subsidized by the government and charges us for taxes still, then to take forever on this 1 form. Do they not have enough developers or do they only have incompetent ones? I have had all of stuff to file for over a month but I have to wait on TurboTax. One of the agents had the nerve to suggest I just file without this form and then amend them later.

Every week they just push the date back another week. I suspect they have no clue as to when this will be ready. Way to lose the trust of your customers by your continued ineptitude. If we can't trust you will do something when you say, how can we trust you with our personal data?

I don't even need this form as we put the money back into an IRA early, but the system won't let me file. Fix your product please.

I'm going to try TaxSlayer out. I downloaded H&R Block and they have the same issue with this form.

Why is the availability date of this form continually being pushed out by turbo tax? The form was finalized and available on the IRS website in January 2023. Individuals pay hard earned money for your services, the least you can do is provide consumers back with a timely fully reliable product. No other self-serve tax prepared product is lacking the availability of this form. Please stop pushing the date of this form out and have it available so individuals can file their taxes. Oh, and if the response if to just post a link for the availability of the form in turbotax please don't bother, one can scroll down to see the same response numerous times. Will have to seriously consider alternative options in purchasing a tax program next year.

One more thing, apparently the IRS has not finalized their 2023 8915F form, which was only released as a draft a few days ago. TurboTax just doesn't want us to efile now without the form because doing so would risk a slap on their wrist from their leash holders at the IRS.    

And, I would efile now without the form and maybe amend my form later, if it were possible. But, here is the deal, I cannot uncheck any box on TurboTax and remove the 8915F form from my file. TurboTax will not efile without the 8915F. 

Obtaining the refund is not that simple. I did call for a refund and received the option to submit an online refund request. Once I can identify another company that will efile now without the form, I will efile that refund request!

I had no issues with HRB with this form.    Where as Turbo Tax wouldn’t let me finish, HR let me finish and I filed and it was accepted and will be getting $ within 3 weeks

The form was finalized Jan 5th. The instructions, however, may not be finalized.

@talltodd  I must respectfully disagree and take offense to your statement that the form was finalized on January 5th, while the instructions may not be finalized.

As you may know, tax forms and their instructions go hand in hand. It is therefore misleading to suggest that the form is finalized while the instructions are not.

The delay in the release of the required form and instructions is causing significant hardship for many taxpayers, and it is essential that Turbo Tax takes immediate action to rectify the situation.
