One more thing, apparently the IRS has not finalized their 2023 8915F form, which was only released as a draft a few days ago. TurboTax just doesn't want us to efile now without the form because doing so would risk a slap on their wrist from their leash holders at the IRS.
And, I would efile now without the form and maybe amend my form later, if it were possible. But, here is the deal, I cannot uncheck any box on TurboTax and remove the 8915F form from my file. TurboTax will not efile without the 8915F.
Obtaining the refund is not that simple. I did call for a refund and received the option to submit an online refund request. Once I can identify another company that will efile now without the form, I will efile that refund request!
