She already filed 2019. And got her refund w direct deposit.:(
Same here . I'm on ssdi. My parents claim on there taxs. I was told I could receive 500 because I'm on disability.
We just looked my girlfriend indicated that someone else could claim her as a dependent. But her family still did not file their 2019:(
that means she is not going to be eligible??
If she can be claimed as a dependent then you are out of luck. I urge you to talk with her parents and confirm then possibly file and amended return as an individual. of course this delays everything but you want to file correctly and be truthful (form 1040-x)
As LJVP mentions ultimately she needs to file the correct return. The other option is to let the 2019 return stand; do not amend. Wait and file her 2020 return and be sure to indicate that she cannot be claimed as a dependent on that return. She would then receive the stimulus payment using that return on top of any tax refunds due for tax year 2020.
I filed my 2019 taxes early, I was claimed by my parents in 2018 but they have not filed their 2019 yet and are NOT claiming me. Since i have already filed my 2019 taxes, will i be eligible for the Stimulus ?
(i did put i could be claimed for 2019, but my parents are NOT claiming me this year 2019)
the last question I have we have 1099 for 2019 for my girlfriend which we still did not claim. If we claim it right now and put the right information. Would it help
Man I filed taxes in 2019 I'm 21 years old but my mom claimed me but she didnt get the extra 500 can I still receive the stimulus or should I go file as a non filer
It’s normal that she didn’t get 500 since you are over 17
So I'm just not gonna get anything
Since the IRS is closed to telephone calls, there's nothing much you can do. If your child filed and said no one one else could or did claim him as a dependent in 2019, and he provided bank information, and he receives no check, he will likely have to wait until next year when he files his 2020 return to receive his stimulus. It's certainly possible the IRS may go back and try to correct some errors or oversights before that but we have no way of knowing.
You are not alone brother. We screwed up and don’t know how to pay rent
taylarmmoore you need to refile if possible since your parents are not claiming you as a dependent find file 1040-x by visiting irs.gov websight
So just to be clear if my parents filed me as dependent in 2018 and have not yet filed and I already filed my 2019 taxes as independent in late March I will receive a stimulus? I already received my state and federal tax return but not my stimulus check.
@Andreaan i am on the same boat as you, I was claimed as dependent last year by my mom but I filed for 2019 as independent because I’m now 25 and can no longer even qualify as dependent but my mom has not filed this year. So my worry is they might take into account our parents info from 2018 and not ours from 2019. If you hear any news please update us!
