Used TTax Business to prep 2020 1120s return having no income and no expenses so all zeros printed in Income & Deductions yet line 22a thru 27 all blank. Is that OK?

I filed timely via cert mail/RR but IRS is assessing late filing penalty. Could return not be "processable" therefor not acceptable due to blanks?

It really does not matter much at this point. Simply return your proof of mailing with the IRS letter and a note explaining that the return was timely filed and there should be no penalty.

The 2020 form 1120S was due 3/15/2021  so did you mail it in late ?    If so you can ask for penalty forgiveness if this is your first transgression.
