Unable to import Quickbooks Desktop pro 2021 into TurboTax Business 2023 desktop

To solve the import issue from Quickbooks 2021 to TurboTax 2023 business requires you to buy a 2024 Desktop subscription and convert your files to it

or enter all the data manually

Yes we are screwed

On the "Let's Enter Your Quickbooks Info" screen it specifically states under Improved Features: that it is "Now compatible with Quickbooks 2021 through 2024 (No new purchase required)"

Is this a false statement?

There is no way of importing QB 2021 into TT 2023. I have been complaining about this for 2 weeks to no avail. TT always tells me there is no problem. I opened TT 2021 and imported QB, just to be sure it found where my file was located, and it still worked. This is very frustrating. I have talked to 6-8 support people hoping to get someone that knows what I am talking about. That hasn't happened yet.

Intuit requires you to buy QB desktop subscription or manually enter data into TT business

I am having the same problem. Have to manually put in the data. Can't believe how much money Intuit wants to make of people. In the future, may have to look for a better product/ tax software combination.

I have been complaining about this for weeks. Supposedly they are working on the problem. Not sure of when an update will be issued or if ever.

Same problem here.  I have QB Desktop 2021, and was able to import into TT Business 2022 just fine last year.  If Intuit wants the customer base to adopt a newer product line or model, make it enticing for people to want to migrate.  Dropping functionality in the hope to force your customers to migrate is never good business practice.  Support the customers you do have.  Make them feel like they have a good business relationship with you.  They will be more willing to buy new products from you in the future.  These types of actions do not sit well with customers and they will be more likely to seek solutions elsewhere.

Re: Importing tax/financial data from Quickbooks into TurboTax Business

I just have to report what proved to be an easy solution, not easy enough to persuade anyone from firing Intuit going forward (unless hey ACTUALLY fix the problem), but enough to get through the current tax season. I took the following steps:

1. Backup up my QB2020 data file. (Probably unnecessary, according to subsequent experience).

2. Install QB Enterprise trial edition. This is done by downloading and executing a file named QuickBooksEnterprise24Trial.exe. I was not required to enter any identifying information. A promotional video tried to entertain me but did not delay me. Mute it if it annoys you.

3. Reboot as instructed. I tried skipping that step, but TTB23 failed to import without rebooting first, so don't even try that (although it did no harm other than wasting my time).

4. Do not start QB (not Enterprise, not QB2020). Do start TTB23. That will cause you to open your data file in QB2020. Now the TTB23 import procedure works as it should with no tears.

5. You may well be home free now, but I continued as follows out of an abundance of caution and mistrust of Intuit. Uninstall QB Enterprise. Windows churned for a couple of minutes in the process of doing that.

6. Open QB2020. Restore my QB2020 data file, just in case that temporary QB Enterprise presence corrupted it somehow. But probably unnecessary. All appears to be well.

7. Open TTB23. All appears to be well after proceeding with the imported data.

8. Reboot (probably unnecessary).
