Type up your message here.  We will try to resolve.  If it's a legitimate error, we will submit to the right department.

Turbotax 2021 Home and Business miscalculates the charitable contribution deduction when filing married jointly with standard deductions.  When you run error check, it calls up the Charitable Contribution Worksheet Line 12B with a $300 entry.

When I type in the correct amount ($600 for married filing jointly since we contributed $1000 in cash last year) it fixes the problem.  But then the next time you run error check, it changes it back to $300.  And then it points out the error again.  No matter how many times I fix the problem, error check keeps changing it back to $300.

So there is no way to file taxes without using the workaround and submitting them with an error identified by your error check.

I'm using TT Home and Business version [phone number removed].  I have the standard deduction, married filing jointly status, and a cash charitable contribution of $1000.

I repeated all of the steps you mentioned, but I never saw the screen Charitable Cash Contributions under Cares Act.  I did run all the way through the step-by-step for Deductions section until the end.  TT then ran through the error check and everything was okay and I could have moved on and filed.

However, when I went back and re-ran error check, the same problem came back.  As soon as I clicked Run Smart Check it recalculated the tax owed and then showed the error message pointing to the $300 entry on line 12b.

    Thank again for your assistance.

Not sure why it says "phone number removed".  Point is, I am running the same version number as you.  021.000.0407

Withdrew some funds from a life insurance policy.  Distribution code 7D on the 1099R is being treated by Turbo Tax as a death instead of Normal Distribution - Annuity payments from nonqualified annuities that may be subject to tax under section 1411.  Using Turbo Tax Premiere 2019.

Please disregard - was able to correct.

My estimated taxes paid went to (2) two areas, one in estimated tax, where they are suppose to go and another, to wages and income. Your taxes paid are not earned income. Please advise. Joanne

If you had placed more assets into service than just the flooring, then a different convention (other than half-year) may have been used.  For the depreciation details you shared, using 20% of the basis for the first year is correct.  It is the subsequent years that will be different amounts.

For property with a 5-year recovery period, being depreciated using MACRS, half-year convention/200DB, 20% of the basis is calculated for the first year the property is in service.  Subsequent years will be 32%, 19.2%, 11.52%, 11.52%, and 5.76%.

See the following excerpt from the IRS Publication 946 How to Depreciate Property:

Here is what I consider an error. When entering my information for my mortgage, my 1098 has $0.00 for property tax (box 10 on 1098) because we pay our prpty taxes directly to the county. However, on the next entry page in TTAX, the field for "Additional Property Taxes" is un-fillable. Therefore the only way to enter my prpty tax is to "fib" and enter it on the 1098 field. NOT GOOD!!!

The software is not letting me complete the input of my foreign income for 1116. It stops me partway through the list and the 1116 is incomplete.

Arkansas form AR3 miscellaneous deductions line 21 shows an entry "LOSS FROM TOTAL DISTRIBUTION OF ALL ROTH IRAS" with a huge amount.  I have no such loss. I can not find where this is coming from.

Reporting errors in 2019 tax year Premier CD:  I filed a joint return as a surviving spouse; my spouse was the primary taxpayer.  I had to print and mail returns because TT did not ask for my late husband's ID or 5-digit PIN and submit them to IRS to enable efile.  It only asked for mine.  IRS rejected the return.  TT phone support could not help me.

Second error:  the North Carolina estimated tax forms for 2020 were printed using my late husband's name and SSN rather than mine, although the NC return correctly showed he was deceased.  So I'll have to download blank forms and fill them in by hand.  The IRS estimated tax forms correctly showed my info.

Minnesota State return rejected due to simple rounding.  Schedule M1M line 2 did not tie to Federal Line 2a tax exempt interest.  Federal was correct.  State rounded up.

Using turbotax online standard 2019 for Alberta.  In the student section, provincial tax questions, it didnt take me a place where I could enter the provincial amount to transfer to a spouse/parent.  only when i got to the warnings could I get to the spot to enter the provincial transfer amount.

First: Married filing separate filers: Each spouse needs to complete a separate IA 6251.   Turbo tax did not do this

Second: Line 2 is to pick up refund of taxes (exclude iowa income tax).  This should pick up amount from IA 1040 Line 27.  Turbo Tax did not.

Third:Based on Net Income amounts certain taxpayers are not required to file IA 6251.  You should check to see if you have this programed.

These errors would have had me paying about $500 of ATM when none was owed.

All of these apply to Iowa ATM Form IA 6251
