Staples. Months ago. Never had software issues before. 15 years???

They are there if you installed TurboTax.
To see the files you must use the Finder Go men and got ~/Library. You must enter the ~/ (tilde slash) .
I found that this affliction crashes TurboTax Premier for 2019, 2020, and 2021. I am not having problems with older versions. I tried the uninstall/reinstall procedure in the link for the 2020 software and it seems to work...for now. I now need to locate my install disks for 2019 and 2021 to see if they are salvageable as well.
This was very disruptive to my family's returns. TurboTax 2021 worked fine in February/March 2021, but was unusable in April. Before I found this thread, I had to use one of the IRS Freefile services for the last return (that person's income was low enough to qualify for Freefile).
Poor support by Intuit. I may switch back to H&R Block software next year.
Thanks! This solved my problem.
Never before this year (2021) have I had this problem. I've tried all suggested fixes. This is unacceptable! Why hasn't TT fixed it?
After nearly 20 years of using TurboTax, I am going to search for another product for 2022 taxes.
Does ALL relevant files include the saved taxes? I have 5 on my computer and certainly don't want to redo taxes that were already filed. BTW, I have never found "uninstall" on my MacBook. Thanks!

No. Just the files that are in this FAQ - do not touch the .tax2021 files:

Thanks!
Still can't get TT to load. Unacceptable that they haven't fixed this!
It isn't just Monterey. It is all versions. So annoying. I'm looking for another program next year.
My issue is that the program crashes every 15 minutes or so, sometimes with a loss of data. I've had this headache with TurboTax Delux on Mac for more years than I can remember. I'm about fed up with this and plan to switch from TurboTax next year.
Hi Verdolini,
I had this problem back in April. At that time Mac user sites were reporting an exploit that caused unexpected crashes because of some illegal write permissions that had the potential to corrupt program files. TurboTax was behaving as you described for me as well, but I also had a weird unexpected crash while using another program. Apple provided an immediate patch, but only for Monterey. You need to get this. I don't know if they have patched earlier versions yet.
Even if you update your OS to prevent the Mac crashes, you will still need to reinstall Turbotax. It is not enough to delete the main program--if the installer finds that support files are already in place it won't replace them and your problem will persist. TurboTax created a list of all the file you need to delete to get a clean re-install at: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/remove-uninstall-turbotax-for-mac/00/26050
It's a pain but this process worked for me!
Good luck!
I am pretty frustrated with the utter lack of support with Intuit. Just spoke to Apple Senior Tech Support and they said this issue has been going on since February and everyone is waiting for Intuit to fix the issue. I get through to the point where it says "Get Started" and then it crashes. Intuit is in a race with Microsoft and Adobe to see who can charge the most for crappy software and give the least support. My vote including issues with Quickbooks For Mac Desktop is for Intuit.
