We need more details to be able to assist you further.  Are you Amending your 2020 return?  Filing for the first time for 2020?  Are you trying to file your 2021 return?  Please add additional information in the thread and someone will reach out with the next steps.

I am trying to file my 2021 but my 2020 hasn't been accepted yet. turbo tax says if that's the case to file with 0 as your AGI, go back and select My 2020 tax return hasn’t been processed by the irs. but that isn't an option to select.

You would enter in the 0 AGI on the current return you are trying to file.  If you have any additional questions, please reach out here in the thread.

I know. it says enter AGI as $0. and it also says select "My 2020 tax return hasn’t been processed by the irs." but that isn't an option to select, like I said before. The only options are "I didn't file last year" "get transcripts" "use 5 digit code" "I didn't file, but I used the IRS tool to get the stimulus payment AGI $1" and another one or two options. THERE IS NO OPTION THAT SAYS "My 2020 tax return hasn’t been processed by the irs."

Use "I didn't file last year" even though you did. If your return has not been processed yet, then IRS records will show you did not file until your return has been processed.

The options listed are used by TurboTax to help customers e-file. They are not transmitted to the IRS. The IRS will only match what you list as last year's AGI.

You can also file by mail. Filing by mail does not require you to answer any AGI questions.

Thank you. When I select I didn't file last year it automatically chooses $1 as my AGI, not $0.

You should be able to click in that box and change the 1.00 to 0.

when I use "I didn't file last year" I can't input $0. it automatically greys out and puts in "did not file"

@Fjtuscano78 Delete the check in the box for "did not file", then choose a "did file" option (even if the "not processed" option isn't available), and then use $0 for the AGI. Some have done that this year and it worked. We can't see your screen, but if you'd like help from someone who can do a screenshare, please visit the link below for Customer Support.
