had the same exact issue, tried two different IPS, Two different Brower's including clearing history, going back over entire return.
BUT THE ANSWER WAS!!! a hitch in email address I use what's called plus email address, but I also used advance + email address such as myname+taxes/[email address removed] - this not only helps me sort emails but also figure out who is sending me spam.. TURBOTAX does not like the / switch and that was my issue. if you use a similar email with special charters. this might be it
transmission didn't go thru because AGI for 2020 was questioned! Checked printout and on line and it showed it was correct yet it was rejected?
You are commenting on an old thread that may have outdated information.
For Rejections due to AGI, please see the Help Article here to assist you with correcting and resubmitting your return.
Your Transmission Didn't Go Through
TurboTax was unable to send your return to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, for the following reason.
Validation failed: The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending. Make sure your TurboTax program is up-to-date. If you still can't transmit your return, go to www.support.turbotax.com for a solution or workaround. In some cases you may need to file the return by mail. - FILED VALIDATION - There is an update for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you'll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates.
Looks like we'v had a technical hiccup.
Try e-filing again. If that doesn't work, you can print your return and file by mail.
I downloaded my Premier software two days ago and the State product this afternoon. I paid to file the State return electronically, so if forced to file by mail, can I get a refund? What is the "Online menu" that I'm supposed to check? URL, please?

The "Online menu" is not referring to a website URL. It's simply referring to the ONLINE heading in the top menubar in desktop TurboTax for Windows. It has a dropdown menu used to check for updates. See the image below. The method to force a check for updates may be different with a Mac. I don't use a Mac.

An update may or may not make a difference, but should be tried first. Some users with the validation error said in another thread that an update didn't help in their case, and that they proceeded by efiling the Federal return by itself successfully, then once the Federal return was accepted, they could try to efile the state return. (NOTE: When efiled separately, you can't efile a state return until after the Federal return has been accepted.) However, some said it was then the state return efile that produced the error, but at least they got the Federal efiled.
