Would proof of payment be noted on my pdf of the return?
Respond to the notice with the DD info you set up and ask for a removal of the penalty/interest on the notice due to their inability to debit the account correctly ... also send in the payment for the original tax bill with the reply.

NO ... only proof is in your bank account.
I had already written a letter after retrieving the pdf copy and the account info is accurate on the title page. I prepared a copy of the page, but I don't have any checks and asked them to do an EFT as originally requested.
Same here! Filed 3/19, scheduled the payment to come out 4/12… money still sitting there.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
They do not take debit cards. I did that by mistake, had to go in and enter checking acct number
You cannot pay w debit card. That could be problem. Must be your Chg account number
Can’t pay with debit. Use Chg.
You can’t use debit card number. Must be your Chg account number
Be sure to use Chg ac number not debit card number
Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.
If you want to check the debit date you specified, look on the filing instructions for your return. It will tell you the debit date the IRS or State will deduct the payment. If you did not print them out you can view them using the following steps:
