I received a 1095a. I am listed as the recipient, my daughter is listed as the covered individual. I had employer paid health insurance, not marketplace or obamacare. She does not qualify as a dependent.

You do not report it since your daughter was not your dependent. Give the form to your daughter or who ever is claiming her as a dependent. They would file it with their income tax return.

I'm confused by your answer. Her daughter can't be the one who does it as she doesnt make enough money to meet the Marketplace's requirements... that's why Mom had to be the recipient and Daughter is the covered individual. Right? So Daughter would claim this on her taxes as 100% and Mom would also claim this but at 0% since she didn't use the insurance. Mom is only there for the income requirements... Right? Thanks!
@gigiwalt: You are posting on an older thread, and many provisions regarding the ACA have changed, especially in regards to the tax code. If you'd like, please post your specific situation, and we can provide more detail on the correct way to claim this on yours (or her) tax return.
I have a similar situation. Both me and my daughter purchased insurance through the Covered California marketplace, having separate policy numbers because of separate policy issuers (Kaiser for me, Blue Shield for my daughter). I have received my 1095-A (and CA 3895) listing me as the Recipient and Covered Individual. My daughter received her 1095-A (and CA 3895) listing her as the Covered Individual but me as the Recipient.
I cannot claim her as dependent (she has more income now) and she is filing her own return as single. What is the proper way to report her 1095-A (3895) and on which return(s)?
For the second 1095A, give this to your daughter and have her report it on her return since she is the covered individual. Before you do this though, make sure you are not also a covered individual in her 1095-A form..
To report in the federal return, type 1095-A in the search box with the magnifying glass. Answer the questions as they are worded . When you prepare your California return, there will be a section in the California interview that will address Covered California and here is where you will enter information on the 3895.
