for SForrestLO: For a self-proclaimed "expert", you have real literacy problems. The article you mention has NOTHING to with the question being asked over and over and over again. WHAT is being changed in the program and tax form updates on 3/6/2020, among other dates????
There is nothing incorrect about that article, so far as I can tell, but it does NOT address knowing if/when an error in the TurboTax program or its tax forms requires filing an amended return. THAT is information that should be included in the release notes for the changes, which is why Intuit OWES its customers full disclosure of all changed and updates.
I need to download the software again as the
Sorry everyone, this has been an issue for the last 3 or 4 years at least. TT will never tell you the details about what has been updated, and doubtful that they will ever fix broken links.
TT continues to get worse every year. A few years ago they missed an important state form that resulted in loss of hundreds of dollars of tax savings. I complained and received no response.
IMO, this is why Quicken separated themselves from Intuit--management got tired of not receiving any support and never fixing the many problems. Quicken has been much better since going alone.
If you want an idea of how poorly Intuit is at supporting it's products try Quickbooks!
Hello Intuit. Came home from 5 days off and new updates but link still not fixed. How embarrassing is this. You are a technology company? Do you not care about this issue? Why can't you provide correct links here?
how do I save taxes on computer ?
Please follow the instructions below to save your tax return.
How do I save my tax returns to my tax file on my computer
@AkinaLO AkinaLO, please don't hijack my thread. This is an issue that warrants intervention by the State Attorney Generals. Turbo Tax has a moral and likely legal obligation to taxpayers to let them know what changes are made the program after they file to see if they need to amend. We are talking about one line of code here. Why does TT ignore this responsibility. Please fix it.
For AkinaLO (Employee TurboTax Specialist)
Pay attention to the topic of this thread. Your "reply" is completely off point and irrelevant.
Sadly, this seems to be Intuit's primary operational attitude, with a large dose of arrogance thrown in.
For TaxGeek2:
It's not that Intuit can't correct the problem; it does not choose to do so.
WOW, this is some pathetic customer service. Open up a ticket "Experts"!
This link has been broken for 2 YEARS. TurboTax apparently has some skeletons in the closet they are trying to hide. I find it inexcusable to post the update as CRITICAL and then ask the hundreds of thousands of users to call the two boiler room phone operators to explain the changes in broken English!
AGREE! You're want me to call your customer service line, go through a multilayered triage system that's meant to try to keep me from talking to a live person, wasting my valuable time, so, what, someone can READ TO ME over the phone what's new in the latest update? Or tell me to click a link that doesn't work?
I paid good money for a working program.
(1) Fix the link
(2) Post the changes
(3) Apologize for the screw up
Totally agree with post. What is TurboTax hiding by not showing updates? Is the software buggy and do not want customers to know what is going on? I have used TurboTax for the last 19 years and never seen this before. This has been a reported problem for over a month. No fix. Get serious. H&R Block starting to look better.
I have read through all the replies to the original question, I have decided LinaJ2020 (and all the other "experts") are not real people. I believe that every Intuit response is made by a robot (or something) that finds a keyword and responds with an off the shelf stock sentence.
The question was simply - what has changed? - and LinaJ2020 responded with <Online> and <Check for updates> which (if you did it) only says "Your software is up to date". Well SURPRISE SURPRISE (Gomer Pyle 1965). I clicked the update button to get into the program but I (and apparently lots of other users) have no idea what was changed. Critical? Should I redo my taxes? Has Covid 19 destroyed Intuit?
So LinaJ2020 (and all the other bots) here are some more keywords to ponder - H&R Block, Tax Act, Tax Slayer. And look - Rakuten has cash back rebates of 8% , 7.5% and 37.5% respectively.
What the heck. Your response is BS. I am a real person with a real question and no BOT. So TurboTax response sounds like a reason not to answer a real customer question. If that is TurboTax's response, them I feel no one should buy TurboTax. If there is a BOT, it was installed as part of TurboTax software purchased on Amazon. Should I post a complaint on Amazon because it appears you are not taking the issue seriously? Just to confirm what the issue is, I start TurboTax and a dialog pops up saying there are updates to be applied. I click button to do update. When updates are complete, a dialog box appears stating there were program and form updates applied and it has a link to check what updates were. The link goes to a TurboTax web site that is TurboTax Support page but there is no list of updates. I am not dreaming this and it is a REAL problem.
