Same issue. Is this going to be fixed?

I am having the same problem e-filing my Mass. state return.
"Your transmission didn't go through...validation failed...there is an update...select check for updates [checked by there his no update]...Looks like we've had a technical hiccup...try again, if that doesn't work file by mail..."
but I paid to e-file. Called support 2 days ago and their solution was to try again in a couple of hours. Still doesn't work 2 days later.

Followup to earlier post....
I even tried e-filling Fed only without the MO State and still get the "You need an update" error.
I have tried your recommended solution several times, it doesn't work.
Get a patch pushed out to fix this or you are likely to lose a great number of long time customers.

I have used TurboTax for over 12 years with no issues. I completed my taxes, paid for my e-file and get this Update error when trying to e-file.
I followed the instructions to the letter on this link https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/bugs-and-error-messages/help/there-is-an-update-available-message-...
After reinstall, my TurbTax Deluxe installed as TurboTax BASIC and wanted me to pay for my State form,
I tried installing on a different computer with the exact same results on initial install and reinstall that I got on original computer. This is completely unacceptable. What are you going to do to remedy this situation? If you aren't going to fix it, I want a refund for the software and my e-file fees, and I will use a different software product.

I uninstalled according to the above message and reinstalled. Since I was unsure of how to transfer my original information into the new return and I didn't want to corrupt the new download, I simply started over. Not a huge deal for me since it's just Social Security and retirement income. However, it wouldn't start my Arkansas state return for some reason....I had downloaded it again also. I closed the whole thing down and then opened it again. That's when the state return was automatically filled in. I continued to the end and THIS time it went through. I did have to pay again, but $20 was a small price to pay for getting this mess over with. Have already dropped my automatic yearly shipment for next year and will see what else is out there next year. Extremely disappointed and I hope someone from Intuit reads these!
I also tried a new browser. See if that makes any difference.
What does this mean - Use a new browser -. TT doesn't use a browser - it is desktop software - right?

I tried the basic uninstall - reinstall with no change in the "unable to efile without updating" that shows no updates needed. I then tried uninstalling with the additional deletion of the C:\ Program Files (86)\ Turbotax Premier 2019 folder. After reinstallation, now it tells me I must redownload my state (NY) before I can continue my tax file. It gives me the option to redownload it for free, goes through the motions of downloading the state and then says I am up to date. I try to continue with the tax file and get the need to redownload my state message again. Now I'm stuck with this new error loop. This sucks, I never had any problems with Turbotax in over 20 years!
Sorry to hear you had to pay extra... I was hoping the updated instructions would prevent having to re-buy the state, since the original instructions saying to delete the folder seemed to require you to. Restoring the state folder from the original directory kept me from having to re-buy, but with as many different issues people are reporting, who knows what is going on.
