The TurboTax Free Edition, is for simple return and doesn't include form 1099-B. If you have stock trades that are reported on form 1099-B and you're using TurboTax Online, you'll need to use the Premier or higher version unless you qualify to use the IRS Free File program.
Form 1099-B (Proceeds from Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions) reports the sale of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other securities.
Your total capital gains for the year minus your total capital losses result in a net gain or a net loss.

Since I only had one item to include in the 1099B, I tried another free tax program and it did include the1099b.
Thank you for your response.
I did FreeFile last year and was able to add my 1099B. My tax document includes Form 8949.
1) Was that form taken away from free file this year?
2) Is it only available in the most expensive version of TurboTax? It's a fairly routine form.
Thank you for your time and response.
For 2020, Form 1099-B is available in TurboTax Premier or TurboTax Self-Employed for TurboTax Online, and TurboTax Basic or higher for TurboTax CD/Download.

I made $110 in investments last year, which is $50 less than how much it would cost to upgrade.
You do a very good job of hiding the IRS Free file that you committed to the IRS to provide to anyone meeting one of the requirements.
I did not find it until after I filed on what you said was your free site, paying because mine was not a "simple" return. When I questioned the charge, there was no mention of "Freedom Edition".
I asked for a return of my payment and was denied. Why am I not surprised that your Community doesn't have any discussion of your bait and switch which is obviously in violation of your contract with IRS. Also no discussion of the multiple class action lawsuits filed against you for this issue.
Can someone on the Community tell me how to get my money back. Or at least direct me to the most successful law firm with a class action suit so I can join it?

This is a public Internet forum. You should not post any personal info here, or you could be scammed/spammed. It looks like the forum privacy filter removed your email address for your protection.
This is a user community forum, and comments are not normally read by folks in power at TurboTax, so they are not likely to see your comments above. However, since it sounds like you already tried to resolve your issue through Customer Support, we can tell you how you can contact the Corporate office if you wish to file a complaint and make your comments known.
It sounds like you already talked to TurboTax Customer Support to tell them you qualified for the IRS Free File Program (if that's the case, i.e., that you met one of the 3 qualifications) but ended up in a paid product when you couldn't find it. If that was unsuccessful, I presume they said something like continuing to file indicated acceptance of the terms, etc.
Or if you want to contact the Intuit Corporate office, you can go to the page below. Just below the page's large title, you'll see a screen-wide blue banner that prominently says:
"Do you have a question, concern, or feedback about an Intuit product or service?"
There is a "Send an email" link with an arrow. It goes to a designated person in the office of the president of Intuit, and they supposedly will assign it to the right team for review.
NOTE: Do NOT send any sensitive personal data since that is regular email--not secure email.

ADDENDUM:
You wrote: "When I questioned the charge, there was no mention of "Freedom Edition". I asked for a return of my payment and was denied."
"Freedom Edition" is basically an old term for that special website, but some people still use it. For the last 2 years it has been called "IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax", which is kind of a clumsy title.
When you talked to TurboTax Support, if that conversation never came up, i.e., if you didn't bring up the TurboTax IRS Free File Program and tell them that you qualified (if you do), you could try to talk to them again and bring up that specific point about your qualification to use it, but it may or may not do any good. But in any case, in my comment above I left you the means to contact the Corporate office, in case you need to.
If you do decide to phone Support again, hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern) 7 days/week.
You may already have a phone number, or you can use this contact form to get a phone number, or it may schedule a callback.

In the issue line just say billing issue without quotes.
Thank you. I will try again.
