"Freedom Edition" is basically an old term for that special website, but some people still use it. For the last 2 years it has been called "IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax", which is kind of a clumsy title.
When you talked to TurboTax Support, if that conversation never came up, i.e., if you didn't bring up the TurboTax IRS Free File Program and tell them that you qualified (if you do), you could try to talk to them again and bring up that specific point about your qualification to use it, but it may or may not do any good. But in any case, in my comment above I left you the means to contact the Corporate office, in case you need to.
If you do decide to phone Support again, hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern) 7 days/week.
