Ok, thanks for the help! I’m at the airport, I’ll pull my taxes as soon as I get home because what you are saying makes sense. The like I may have gotten someone else’s return! Even with the offset on line 30 like you said the numbers still don’t add up! I’m short thousands of dollars and I didn’t get the amount I’m short in stimulus money. This has to be a major mistake. I still don’t know how this 3rd party got a hold of my information I’ve always done the same thing every year and never had my refund show in my bank account they way it did so I’m going to assume that isn’t my return at all.
Oh something else I just thought of. It may have been just for the 3rd stimulus that just went out and not your tax refund. The new stimulus is 1,400 per person including all dependents this time. But they have been sending odd amounts like only half. Like 2100 instead of 4200 (1400x3)
If that’s my stimulus for this 3rd round then this is an even bigger mystery! I have 5 in my family (my husband, myself, and 3 children) the “tax products” deposit isn’t even $1400 and it has change on the end. Our combined AGI was no where near the cut off threshold. Normally we make a lot more but because of the pandemic it’s not the same. You know I’ll never be able to get through to the IRS either. Also, I bank at Chase and we all know they were one of the last to process stimulus this time around so I wasn’t even expecting to see that payment until whenever 🤣
Same here. On my 1040. Line 30 it states I am supposed to receive an extra 1000 for a recovery rebate credit. I received My federal tax return but it is missing that 1000 dollars
So that has nothing to do with the stimulus?
@Jponce43786 The bank entry is your Refund, (which you opted to take your TurboTax fees out of) from the Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, who then distributes the balance of your refund to your account.
If the amount of your Refund (minus TurboTax fees) is different than you expected, and you claimed a Recovery Rebate Credit on your return (for stimulus payments) click this link for more info on Why Was my Refund Adjusted After Claiming Recovery Rebate Credit?
The Third Stimulus Payment comes to you directly from the IRS, not through TurboTax.
I received my IRS tax refund and it was $582.68 less than what it should be. I purchased TurboTax from Costco. I thought I clicked to pay for State which should be appx. $40.
I did the taxes by myself. Nobody on TurboTax team helped. What is $582.68 fee for?
I would like this back, minus what it should be for State filing.
Please advise.
Could it be for a state refund? Federal and state come separately. If the IRS adjusted your return they will mail you a letter explaining. A common adjustment is if you claimed the Recovery rebate credit on 1040 line 30 when you already got the Stimulus payment or got the second one after you filed or reported the wrong amounts or entered them in the wrong box. Do you have an amount on line 30?
Check the IRS site first ... what did they send ? Did they send less than expected ? If so they will send a letter of explanation in the next few weeks.
The same has happened to us. Could it be the difference from the stimulus based on filing our 2020 taxes? IRS website said it hasn’t sent our refund yet, but that something was being withheld for a debt, but we don’t have any, other than the fees for filing, and it doesn’t add up!
So I looked on line 30 and it says $2900. I am supposed to receive $10,593. My tax guy did say I’d receive all 3 of my stimulus checks for my son and I before I receive my tax return. I received $3945 today from that tax products ….
many idea?
Did you check the IRS site to see what they released ? This year the refund and the credits could be issued in several parts ... www.IRS.gov/refunds
Also log into or set up an account online at IRS.gov so you can see more details of what went out and when and why ... https://www.irs.gov/payments/view-your-tax-account
Im here to tell them THANKYOU. This is Robert Alexander WellsFargo end666. I just recieved a deposit of 2807.70 on DEC 1st. It finally went through. A previous tax return. Thank God. It was an ammended amount, that got changed again... then changed again ECT.
These past 2 tax seasons have tested the IRS to the limits ... working short staffed and with antiquated equipment I am surprised anything is completed. Hooray to congress for messing with the tax laws multiple times on short notice during a pandemic and cutting the IRS budget at the same time ... that's a winning combination for sure !!! LOL 😜
I’m really trying to figure out why I didn’t get all my refund
