Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I got married last year, prior to getting married my wife received the 3rd stimulus check. Now that we are married we do not qualify. Where do I fix this.

I expect that there is someplace to correct this on the tax form however I do not see anything.

If your spouse received the 3rd stimulus check last year she does not have to pay it back.   But she cannot get it twice.   When the software asks if you received the 3rd payment she has to enter that she received it.  If your income is so high that the questions about the recovery rebate credit are not even appearing then you have nothing to enter for it.

As @ Xmasbaby0 mentions, your income has to be low enough to even be asked.  If qualified, you will be asked in the "Federal Review" tab about any third round stimulus payments that you and/or your spouse already received.

You could also use the search function.  Type in "Stimulus" and select the "Jump to..." link at the top of the results.

If you are otherwise qualified and did not receive a payment yours will be added to line 30 of your form 1040 as a Recovery Rebate Credit.

You can view your form 1040 prior to filing:

  1. "Tax Tools" in the left hand menu

  2. "Tools"

  3. "View Tax Summary" in the main screen

  4. "Preview my 1040" in the left hand menu
