I didn't file my federal return at the same time as my state return and now it is $10 more to file the state return only a few hours later. Why?

Not sure what fees you are seeing or what you thought you saw previously. When you use online TurboTax the fees for federal and state are separate. The online versions of TurboTax charge $50 for preparing a state return--and the fee is the same whether you e-file it or mail it. You are posting from online Deluxe--so it would be $60 for federal and $50 for state.

The state program when using the Deluxe edition is an additional $50. This price has been in effect since March 1, 2020.
