I cannot find a way to report a bug in Premier 2023 Edition

I have called the support number twice, both times got to a deadend and was hung up on.  I found a bug in Premier Edition 2023 that creates an loop that prevents  e-filing.  I need to report it, but can find a form or number to call that will allow me to report it. It has to do with Form 1098 continuously asking for the other persons name and address even thought the No box is checked to indicate that no other person is responsible for this mortgage.

This bug causes a fatal endless loop that prevents the return from being Federally e-filed. There is no way around it.

Please clarify.  Where does the issue appear?

In order for us to troubleshoot this issue, you can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions for TurboTax Desktop users:

  1. From the black bar at the top of your screen, select Online
  2. Click Send Tax File to Agent
  3. Click Send on the message that pops up
  4. TurboTax will create a "sanitized" copy of your return information with no personal info
  5. Post the 7-digit token number here in this thread

I cannot find a way to report a bug in Premier 2023 Edition

Doing a simple return for mother-in-law that is 98 yrs old and has lots of medical expenses. Have used Premier for many years, but baffled with this simple 'apparent bug'. There are enough medical expenses on Schedule A Line 1 worksheet , less the 7.5% of AGI  nets to  $20, 010 yet it still wants to file as Standard deduction of $15,700 as if she had no medical expenses, instead of trigger Itemized deductions and refunding her some taxes paid in. The Forms list does not show a Schedule A as part of the prepared forms for her return. I have sent a sanitized version to Agent per instructions on this thread, with code of 1230312 but the process does not let me tell Agent what Premier is not doing, so I don't know how they will be able to detect what the problem is. How do I connect with someone that may be looking into what was sent?

You can still open the Schedule A in Forms.  Just go to the top of the left column Open Form and find schedule A in the US Form 1040 listing.  Then you can see what's being reported.

There are also other places like on the main Info Worksheet (not My Info or Personal Info wksht) part VI Additional Information with 3 checkboxes to force Schedule A.

I had and can open Schedule A form and it's filled in correctly, stating the 21,957 goes to L12 on the 1040, but it does not go there. I cannot find the check boxes you refer to that forces it to use the Itemized (Schedule A) number. Can you give more direction on where ethe Main info is and how I get there please.

You can try to change it this way.  How to change between the Standard Deduction and Itemized Deductions

Problem resolved. I did find that on the Info Wks Part VI (Addition Info for Federal 1040) the checkbox was checked for "Check this box to take Standard Deductions even if less than itemized deductions". I don't know how that got checked. Anyway, thanks for telling me where to look.

My TurboTax Token Number is 1246420. I have encountered a bug. My wife and I each contributed $7,500 to an IRA. I entered this information into turbotax. However, when it processed my information it disallowed my ira because my annual earnings were over the maximum allowed. It generated form 8606 to indicate my $7,500 was nondeductible. However, it failed to add the $7,500 back into my taxable income. Therefore my taxable income was understated and my refund was overstated. My refund should have been $4, 755 but turbotax generated a refund of $6,405.

We have reviewed the token return you provided. Schedule 1 Line 20 reports $7,500 for the deductible IRA contribution by your spouse (also on Form 1040 Line 10). The IRA Contribution Worksheet shows both contributions, but the taxpayer contribution is marked as non-deductible on Line 13. This is also reported on Form 8606. Your return does not appear to have understated your taxable income.
