Did your state file yet? or still waiting on the 882 form to get fixed?
using the advice from others, i was able to e-file Maryland some weeks ago. about a week ago, a tt fix allowed me to print the return. if needed, you can e-file for free on the Maryland Comptrollers web site Marylandtaxes.gov.
Was able to file Federal return and not able to file my State of Md tax return online due the issues with Form 8582. Very disappointed in TT. Was charged $20 for something that doesn't work. At this point I just want to know how to get a refund from TT.
I have VA taxes, and I really don't want to have to do them again because you know...I paid for software that included state taxes. So I will wait a little longer on state since I don't owe nor will i get anything back.
until now, i thought this was strictly a Maryland TT issue!
i thought TT had resolved the problem. i had several maryland TT updates. you can e-file for free on the State of Maryland's Comptrollers Web Site: Marylandtaxes.GOV.
I cannot file my federal or Virginia taxes because of form 8582. I received a notice that the form is ready and available but the TurboTax software will not allow me to efile. What can I do?
Form 8582 is used to figure the amount of any passive activity loss, where you are not actively engaged in a business or investment, such as losses from rentals.
If this is in your Maryland tax return, our team is still working to resolve an error message in some Maryland state returns that give an error message about Form 8582 and the Activity Sheet needing an update, even if there are no passive losses to report.
If the federal forms are all finalized and the federal is ready to e-file, you can choose to file just the federal return at this time, then come back when your state forms are ready and e-file that return. The filing date for tax year 2021 Maryland state returns was extended to July 15th, 2022.
Note, if you don't e-file them together, you do have to wait until the federal is accepted before you can e-file the state. Sometimes this takes a day or even two.
Here is a TurboTax Help article with directions for when you return to file your state return.
File State after the Federal is Filed
If this is not a Maryland state return error message, to clarify, please let us know if it is in the federal return or a different state. This will help us investigate the message. If you do not have any passive activity, we would like to take a deeper look at this. It would help to have a diagnostic file, which is a sanitized copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed but has all of the forms and numbers entered. You can send one to us by following the directions below and posting the token number here so we can access the sanitized return.

It would be a nice gesture for TT to compensate Maryland e-filers for all the trouble and rime wasted of this issue!
for me, i just e-filed the Feds without e-filing Maryland. When I came to the e-filing option, I took the check mark out of Maryland. Find out if Virginia allows free e-filing through the Virginia web site.

Spoke with customer support today, received my third email this evening that 8582 is ready, and it still does not work. TT fix the problem!
I did this and have not heard from TT. Communication is not prompt and when it comes is wrong. I also have spoken with customer service and they said just to wait. I have received three emails, the last one tonight that the problem is fixed, BUT IT IS NOT!!@!! I am filing VA residency, but the source of income is in SC, with both showing the same problem. I have done this for the past six years with no problems, but this year TT does NOT have its act together.
I am in Iowa and I get the same message. That the form is not ready due to a change in the federal form. It should be available soon.
