I bought a turbotax license code. How do I use it?

I purchased a license code but I still want a CD for the Turbo Tax 2025 program.  Where can I order one??  And price??  I have always had a CD....I do not like codes for instance when I downloaded the state today it did not work...I had to delete the entire program that I obtained from the license code to get it to work.  I want a CD in case I need to reload the software at a later date after uninstalling Turbo Tax.

Sorry there are no more CDs.   The download is better.   And most computers don’t have a CD drive anymore.

 

Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account to install it all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac).  And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.

@jdcusack The correct response was already given.  TurboTax no longer provides a CD for the desktop editions.

Came back to say that after closing all my browser tabs and restarting my laptop, it more or less went the way you described.

 

Just in case someone else is experiencing the same issue, I believe it wasn't initially working for me because I had TurboTax Online already running in the background. Once I closed all tabs and restarted the laptop, I ran the download again, and it worked from there.

 

It correctly read that I did not have the correct Windows OS system and asked if I wanted to transfer to TurboTax Online Premier for free, and I went from there.

This is mostly a user community forum, not a direct route to TurboTax Support.   Where did you purchase your product--did you purchase a download of the desktop software directly from TurboTax?   Or did you purchase it elsewhere?   The license code is 16 characters, a mix of numbers and letters like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.   Do you get any error message?

Only TurboTax Support can provide a new license code.

@user17730096080   Where are you trying to enter it?  There are 2 different kinds of codes.  Did you buy the Desktop program but trying to enter the License Code into the Online version?  Or buy a code for Online and trying to activate the Desktop program?
